Super Six Round 3: Abraham - Froch / August 21st

The fight between Abraham and Froch in the third round of the Super Six has been scheduled. It will take place in Nottingham or in Berlin.

Abraham: "After my defeat in the USA against Andre Dirrell, I would love to fight in the O2-World in Berlin. This arena is my fortress."

In the schedule of the tournament Nottingham is quoted as the location for this fight to happen.

But if Froch wins against Kessler on aprill 24th, he has reached the semi-final and could come to Berlin for his last fight in the pre-rounds.
This is great, no messing around and its taking place in August which is a dead month for big boxing fights.

This is why i love the Super six, so many quality fights to look forward to and short spaces between each one. Every boxing fan needs to support this tournament.

The interesting thing will be if Froch beats Kessler and goes through to the Semi finals, will he stand his ground and keep the fight in Nottingham or will he go for the extra money to be made by fighting in Berlin.

i believe froch gets by kessler in a tough, physical fight. froch can certainly outwork abraham for a good minute ort wo per round, as he covers up. i don't believe abraham can match froch for strength, stamina or workrate. i don't know what's going to happen when abraham connects with his brutally accurate power shots, though.

should be good, but with abraham suffering a loss, it's clear there is a chance of plan from the grerman side, who will want home advantage.

I think AA can match anyone at 168 in terms of physical strength and I think AA hits harder than Froch. Bad matchup for Froch in my opinion. His defense is horrendous and he doesn't have the skill or mobility to outbox AA over the distance. His chin is good but if he was hurt by Talyor and Dirrell it will not hold up to an Abraham bomb. AA has better defence and I have less worries about him getting caught with big punches. Froch relies on bullying and roughing up his opponents and I don't think that will work well against AA.

Froch gets KO'ed in this fight because his style matches up too well to Abraham's.

I think Abraham's achilles heel is actually his stamina.

He dont work particularly hard yet seems to be blowing at the bell when he does.

It's defo gonna be a KO ending i reckon, with both maybe touching down.

Nobody can really question Abrahams fitness. He was finally starting to come on strong after ten rounds of being completely outboxed by Dirrell.Horses for courses, and i will reserve judgement on it until i see the Kessler fight.

abraham spends an awful long time covering up. froch will be the biggest, most rugged person he has faced. it could be like the first miranda fight. froch's strength and stamina are better than abraham's. abraham's defense and accuracy are better than froch's.

i actually see a margarito-cotto type of war. froch is a big puncher himself. he's outgutted realy good fighters like pascal and taylor. if he wears down kessler and abraham he'll probably still get little respect. he could be in great fights, and all most ppl would do is rant and rave about "hard done by" running spoilers and drama queens like a certain fighter who's been spoiling the super 6.

Im sorry,i disagree. That certain fighter, wether he made a meal of it or not,was cleanly punched whilst down.He looked superb, even a p4p'r,for 90% of the fight.I really rate Dirrell, just a few flaws in his make up,mentally, could stop him becoming a great.I know he's not your cup of tea though, mate :OhYes:

 I really hope Dirrell-Abraham 2 happens and Dirrell gets KTFO cleanly. The antics of both Dirrell, Gary Shaw and his camp during the Abraham fiasco in the 360 episode really annoyed me. His antics in the lead up to the Froch fight agitated me as well. Froch could be described as cocky but in a tongue in cheek sort of way. Dirrell brashness is something else. He has all the tools to be a great fighter but as mickey says, he lacks something mentally.

This is a very dangerous fight for Froch - as mentioned styles wise his attacking ,take risks, crowd pleasing style could play into Abraham's hands. Despite his good chin, if he goes to war ala the Pascal fight, he could find himself on the floor. But in recent fights Froch has had to do the chasing. Froch is actually better as a counter puncher and likes to walk people onto that nasty uppercut. He can also box a bit, you don't medal at the worlds without being able to do just that. If he can get Abraham to come to him, I think Froch can spring a big surprise as many here seem to be writing him off in this fight.

Feck it,im going to amaze GOmez with this, and myself, but im going to have to get behind Froch for the rest of the tournament.I didnt like the way the Americans were carrying on,and just because its a Showtime tournament, think its their right to win it.Froch didnt come across too bad their either.....Ive never hated Froch, just didnt see the point in people pulling down Calzaghe's achievements to make Carl look better. He will be judged on his own merits, and is doing o.k at the time of writing. The Dirrell win(i still think he lost) has been boosted by Dirrell's performnce against Abraham.Watch your back in the U.S though,Carl...

This isn't good news for me, I was supposed to be going to V festival with my missus and her pals on the 21st.

I cannot miss Froch v Abraham though whether in the UK or Germany.

Does anyone have a good suggestion for getting out of V? She has already paid for tickets.
