i was wondering if anyone has heard of Alan. Edward. Costello apparently he was a champion boxer in Australia.hes 53 now so it would have been at least thirty years ago his dob is 27/02/57 if anyone could help it would be great he has said that he fought in WA and townsville not much info to go off but im not having any luck at all im not very computer literate either so thanks ahead if any one can help out

hello thank you for your prompt reply i cannot ask him that as he is no longer in the area i just thought it strange that if he was so good why i havent heard even a whisper in the past even tho im not a real follower you do remember the champs so im really stumped

Sorry, cannot find him.
Wouldn't have been an amateur champion, would he? I remember reading about an Australian wrestler named Al Costello, he and Roy Heffernan wrestled in America as the Mighty Kangaroos or something, but he is either dead or over 100 now.

As Brute mentions, there was a "Rassler" Al Costello (and I remember him on the old local wrestling TV series of the 1960s) but a read of his extensive Wiki entry, shows no indication that he was involved in boxing and the age difference suggests that the man in question is a different bloke:

Amateur records going that far back might be hard to get
Try Townsville pro & am trainer Gonzo Hooper & see if he's heard of him. He was around when Townsville was a one pub town
