where to now for green?

Good turnout tonight for danny, honestly thought he would have had a tougher fight from siaca. but you get that. I personally would like to see a huck or cunningham fight, but dont hold high hopes for this. maybe even calzaghe seeing though there is talk of comeback, and i think danny walks through him btw. any thoughts?

Jones is finished, Calzaghe has retired, Mundine is still trying to be a middleweight, Danny may just as well fight real cruiserweights.

I think the IBO has a rule that the champion cannot refuse any reasonable challenger. Maybe somebody can clarify this.

If we're talking Cruiserweights I reckon he should go to America and fight someone like BJ Flores first to get a bit more recognition and then go for Steve Cunningham.

If we're talking Light Heavyweights, like it or not B-Hop is probably still the money fight and the first option he should take. After that I think he matchs up well against the likes of Chad Dawson and Tavoris Cloud. I would also still like to see him bring Glen Johnson down under.

I mentioned Cloud back in December after the RJJ fight. This would be a top class fight. I think Tavoris is the best LHW in the world at the moment, this would really be a career defining fight should Green win.

it won't happen, but i'd like him to fight hopkins to prove a point to the world narcs that u don't have to be american to beat top fighters.

i get annoyed when on the general forum the geeks say who the hell is danny green, he just got a lucky punch to beat a washed up jones. never heard of the guy. who has he beat? he doesn't deserve to be in the ring with the legend hopkins and green wouldn't land a punch on hopkins at all, and has no chance etc. etc.

although green is not the most talented boxer in history, i still think he is underrated and i'm sure he'd ko hopkins. if only he'd been fighting at light heavyweight for most of his career, i'd love to see the difference in his boxing record.

Im aware of calzaghes retirement, but there are whispers of a come back. and it wasnt that long ago danny was retired. wouldnt be the last guy to come out and fight again. would be a huge draw here or over there. specially with the ashes in cricket coming up in november.......

Cloud's biggest problem seems to be inactivity, a curse that plauges most Don King fighters these days...

Herbie Hyde? A former WBO heavyweight champion now fighting as a cruiserweight? Not much older than Danny either.

i reckon you are on to something there brute.

Hide is just about to compete in one of the CW fight tournaments they have in the UK. If he wins that it might be an ideal lead in to a fight with Danny. If green fought over there i reckon it would be pretty big news.

Hide is old, but I bet he can still bang. Their styles are similar which means it will probably be an early night one way or the other.

as long as he does step up and not waste this opportunity. would hate to see danny go the mundane route and fight nobodies at home instead of taking on a challenge or two.

i think there is more chance mayweather fighting mundine then calzaghe coming out of retirement for danny green.

i really think danny could and should try to become undisputed light heavy champ and join his mate vic in the history books , it would be great for aussie boxing hey

Any big fight would be good for Green right now,

or perhaps even a fight with Wayne Braithwaite

Are sure they wer'nt regarded as good fighters before stepping in the ring with Green.

Stipe Drews came with a name.

Otis Griffin came with a name.

Jones Jnr came here on the back of a very special performance and one of the biggest names in boxing.

He's been very impressive since Mundine..very.

Glen johnson is my pick for a catchweight. He's as tough as nails and the fight that will be Danny's career defining fight(IT WILL BE A WAR).

At Cruiser(at least close to weight86kg+),he needs a fight or 2 to adjust to the weight and some of those fights should be against,Fragomeni, Braithwaite,Jirov, Maccarineili or as someone said before Hide.

Really i want to see Danny give it to a pom, he's never fought 1....why?

Wlodarczyk fights Fragomeni in May, he also would be a good match up i feel, surprised how low he's ranked though. Style wise it's an exciting match up for Green, both guys very aggressive and the Polish are renowned for being tough as nails. He also may be more open to fighting in Oz than others, esp more than a pom

Calzaghe is a bad style matchup for Green. I think it would be a tough fight for Green to win.
Id like to see Tarver or Glen Johnson. Both Big names and both tough fighters.
