Looking at the rankings, who would Brook fight? It's worrying that Saul Alvarez W 31 (KO 23) - L 0 (KO 0) - D 1 seems the logical choice, as far as the WBO are concerned.

http://www.wbo-int.com/revised/RANKINGS-WBO.asp
1 Kell Brook (Int-Cont)
2 Antonin Decaire - Fighting Souleymane M'baye for the WBA title
3 Rafal Jackiewicz - Won an eliminator to fight for the IBF title
4 Saul Alvarez
5 Vitaliy Demyanenko (Asia-Pacific)
6 Alfonso Gomez
7 Joshua Clottey
8 Mike Jones
9 Bethuel Ushona (WBO Africa Int.)
10 Luis Carlos Abregu
11 Euri Gonzalez (Latino)
12 Michael Jennings
13 Ali Nuumbembe (WBO Africa)
14 Krzysztof Bienias
15 Diego G. Chaves (Latino Int.)
** Sherali Mamadaliev (WBO Europe)

im pretty sure i read somewhere that alvarez is being suspended , cant remember for certain but think it was over banned substances .

is alfonso gomez too much for brook at this point ??
gomez has looked good lately , but most notably against faded stars , that could be a possible route for brook.

Alvarez is fighting Miguel Cotto's brother, Jose Cotto, on Mayday. I can't find anything regarding banned substances in the news:

Gomez is very dangerous. OK, Cotto demolished him, but that was a very good Cotto. Since then Gomez has seemed more focused, and now showing a tenacity I've not seen in him before. I think Brook could beat him, but unless Brook can really hurt him, Gomez will cause him trouble all the way. Great reward, though, as Gomez is one of the bigger names in the division.

The Gomez would destroy all on that list in one night and not even break a sweat.

Mexican Chavez last fought in November but then was banned for seven months for testing positive for a diuretic that often serves as a masking agent.

The 7 months will be up by the time he fights Duddy. :TU:

Freddie Roach is training him: http://www.BS.com/?m=show&id=26765
