FROCH THREATENING TO WALK AWAY

Apparently Sauerland are trying to get the Abraham fight in Germany. Froch is adament there is an agreement for the fight to be in the uk and the Germans are saying the agreement was for the fight to be in Europe with no designated venue.
Froch says thats bollocks and he has an agreement and if its not honoured he's pulling out.
Crazy shit but Sauerland are desperate for Abraham to go through and can see them throwing a lot of money at the fight if there is any chance of the exec's backtracking and it being moved to Germany.
Hope Froch gets his way, there is no way in the world he gets a fair crack at Abraham in Germany.

Hennesey said at the pressconference that he had agreement with Sauerland that the fights has to be in Britain, but later he admitted to a danish newspaper that it on a verbal agreement.

The thing is. Abraham wouldn`t get a fair crack in England either ... home decisions are more common in Britain than germany nowadays. Froch said as much last night. I can see why both guys favour the home draw.

As prestigious and good this tournament is - I hope Hennessy and Froch tell Sauerland where to stick their fight if it does not go ahead in the UK.

Good call - neutral venue like America would be a good call - however the tournament is not just about the boxers - it also gives the promoters a chance to make some much needed revenue when they get a "home" show and thus that is why you will see Hennessy stand his ground unless of course Sauerland "sweeten" the deal.

Poor Froch.
Each promotor is out for themselves and their man trying to give them an advantage. Froch should tell Meaty Mick to pull his finger out.

Froch has no title, & because of the Super Six has nowhere to go without one. What's he going to do, go to Canada & get stood on his head & KTFO'd by Lucian Bute? I think not.
He's a minor regional draw who has no country-wide support. I think he'll walk away from this tournament round about the same time he learns how to throw a left hook without spinning around completely in a circle.

Froch to withdraw from tournament claiming he can't make 12st any longer and this was the reason for his loss to Kessler
If Pascal beats Dawson (unlikely) he will pursue a fight with him for 12st 7lbs title

Pascal is fighting Chad Dawson, after which he will be an ex-champion, & Bute would hit Froch so many times they'd stop it -- for Mercy! -- with Froch on his feet & complaining bitterly that he was "Drawing Bute in" by letting him hit Carl's head until Bute got tired.

dont think it really matters where the abraham fight is staged as i very much doubt if it would go the distance anyway.

I really don`t see Abraham coming to England for this fight.
Froch has no real bargaining power now. No belt and very little public support. After this loss he will be seen as just another built-up British hype job .. who got found out
Froch has the beating of Abraham (if he can be bothered to try is another thing?). So he really needs to bend over backwards to get the fight on. He needs to take his head from up his arse and realize he isn`t even half as good or popular as he thinks.

Will a TV company even want to pay the production costs of a fight in Britain, plus how many fans would it get with no title and where would it be staged?
Rumours are Froch and Hennessy are close to splitting anyway.

Incorrect.
He lost to Taylor but got lucky, he lost to Dirrell but got lucky, he lost to Kessler pretty convincingly.
He has no defence, no boxing skills, no ring craft, just a strong chin who swings wildly like a drunk coming out of a pub.
He got found out last night but it was only a matter of time.

Unsurprising given Meaty Mick couldn't get Froch a proper deal as a world champion

Thing is, I can see where Arthur and Carl are coming from.
Arthur believes he was the victim of a dodgy referee and a conman.
Carl believes that the fight was far closer and that he edged it - whilst Tilleman scored it in a manner that we all predicted, especially as he is totally in the German paymaster's pocket.
Maybe they need a neutral venue in Spain, have American judges and then get it on.

Were me and you watching the same fight Finchy? I thought Froch was well in the fight and you could argue for a Froch win. Given the quality of competitor, location, atmosphere and circumstance (flights etc marring the last week of preparation) I think Froch gave a good account of himself and will come back strong to really challenge for this tournament.

Would he join Hatton if he left? Froch v Abraham would fill 10,000 plus if it was on at 11pm start time.

come on froch can't pull out of the super 6, and won't. he must be getting paid well for his fights on showtime. the way things are right now, he might not even get friday fight night on sky.

Froch would be mad to walk away from the Super 6.
He was on the radio earlier this week, moaning about the 'death' of boxing & the non existence of it on free-to-air TV in the UK.
If he were to walk away from this tournament, he'd have even less chance of getting on ANY kind of TV in Britain.
