I don't read allegedly's column in the News of the World because I don't buy the newspaper. Yesterday, however, I came across a copy at a friend's house and while reading the rugby league and rugby union reports did stumble across Warren's column. In it, he says Joe Frazier purchased land from the purse he received for his 1973 fight with Muhammad Ali.
Joe Frazier fought Muhammad Ali in 1971, 1974 and 1975. It was one of the greatest fight series of all time, probably THE greatest. Anyone who says that Ali and Frazier met in 1973...well, I won't say it.

also he said
Promoter Barry Hearn has declared: "It's time we got back to basics." He labelled Michael Brodie's fight with IInjin Chi last night a "proper fight for a proper title".
And he even added: "I hope this is the start of something new - promoters have a lot to answer for where more and more titles have flooded the market.
Proper fight? Proper title? The WBC was onlt at stake last night because the real champ Erik Morales has been elevated to the WBC's ridiculous status of Champion Emeritus.
i dont know what he quiet means from that, but erik morales couldnt make the weight anymore and wanted a new challange at 130. Brodie and chi were number one and two in the ranking so they fought for the vacant title, whats wrong with that,

Can sort of see what he saying, I can't understand why Morales still down as a featherweight champion, when he has stated that he cannot make the weight and wishes to superfeather. Its an odd decision - maybe the WBC aren't certain he can take Chavez.

Warren also referred to Muhammad Ali's last fight as 25 years ago.
I thought his last fight was against Trevor Berbick in December 1981.
Warren just isnt interested in proper titles or proper boxing.
He has invented his own sport. A sort of semi-professional sub-standard boxing for paper titles
