How many Olympic medals have you won? How many world titles have you won?

And you have the cheek to call someone a bum? Grow up.

Your correct,it would destroy his confidence if he read some of the anti-khan threads on here, although i agree with what boxer bob says i wouldn't call any boxer a bum, putting their health on the line every time they climb in the ring.

u could also make a case for him moving up to light welter to avoid JMM, Valero, Katsidis and Casamayor. If u wanted to.

look guys im just fed up with amir running his mouth when he does nothing to back up his claims

yes he moved up to dodge the lightweight names because they could punch and he would never become champion , prescott has not had a look in since he kayoed amir either

he and his team are picking easy fights as his chin is terrible - that is a fact

fans are turning against amir because of the above , also he uses racist crap because he isnt liked

amir it isnt racist to dislike you because i think you are a fraud and that you are the most protected fighter in the game today

naseem hamed was the same race as you and was liked a whole lot more than you because he wanted to fight the best , home and away , yes some people didnt like him but at least he backed it up in the ring vs the best . oh and the barrera that beat hamed would have knocked you out early amir , not the broken shell of a fighter you faced

he is a total hype job , just looking at all his opponents ko ratios will tell you that , he has consistantly fought non punchers and guys that are at least a weight below him

well the non punchers except from prescott , and amir didnt even last 2 mins

Lets face it though since Freddie Roach took over Amir looks Shit Hot.
There has been some avoidance obviously but I reckon after he dismantles Paulie with ease he will step up.
Theres not to many boxers with Amirs speed and workrate is there.

Malignaggi maybe featherfisted but he is world class and has a better resume than Maidana

spiker , no doubt amir has speed and workrate , yes he works very hard in and out of the ring

my problem is his mouth and his chin and why hes ducking the best domestically and the world stage

before prescott he was "ready for marquez and pacman" his words not mine

he had a go at froch the other night about getting beat but he hasnt faced the type of opponents that froch has , so he cant speak

the guy who beat him is no more than a crude puncher - thats all is needed to beat khan though , a punch

honestly i have never seen a fighter with that bad a chin , amir was knocked down by willie limond and nearly knocked out , limond has no punch at all , jesus even a shot 5 years past his best gomez nearly knocked amir out

its no suprise he fighting a guy with 5kos now....but as mentioned i wouldnt be shocked if paulie knocks out khan

terminator you are right...but

he was meant to face maidana...who would you believe it has a big big punch

khan should have lost his WBA title as he took the easier match and ducked the puncher

I agree, in essence, with what Bob is saying, but I don't agree with the wording. But is anyone surprised that Khan and his team keep avoiding facing a puncher?

I can't stand Khan, but I don't like this talk of him "ducking" Maidana. Why should he fight him? Khan just shut out Kotelnik, whom was fresh out of winning a split decision out of Maidana. I don't think he deserves a second shot at the title just yet as if Khan were to outbox him he wouldn't receive due credit for it.

No he's not, he's the interim champion. The mandatory was Salita.
While I agree that interim titles are rubbish, do you think that Andre Ward should drop out of the Super Six to defend the WBA title against Dimitri Sartison. And if not, aren't you guilty of horrendous double standards?
Anyway, Maidana could force the issue by refusing to agree to step aside, but he's taking other options himself. That's part of the business, much like Lennox Lewis taking his stepaside money from Tyson.

Is it normal to fight two madatories in a row?

Similarly, Max Schmeling was left standing on the scales for a fight that never happened after Braddock stood him up in order to set the funding stone of Joe Louis' later financial ruin by taking a percentage and $300,000, or the equivalent, to defend against Louis instead of Max. The put a bit of top soil on by saying they didn't want the title to head to Nazi Germany but the truth is they wanted the dough and the Louis fight. Max got his fight in the end, probably wishes he hadn't.

Ricky Hatton, so often accused of dodging Witter, went to HBO, fans went mad when he refused to offer his box office poison rival a fight, and set out on a path that led to a megafight with Floyd Mayweather, ironically a fighter that Hatton had 'ducked' a few years prior.

Joe Calzaghe fought, what, two or three mandatories against absolute shite.

It is not perfect, it is not ideal, but the fact is that the WBA want their belt to stay with Khan, and HBO, so they'd have facilitated Khan either way, probably by minting a new belt to pass onto Maidana, so Rene did what he needed to do and the three fighters, Khan, Maidana and Bradley, are being lined up by HBO, who will dictate if and when Maidana gets his shot(s).

Personally, I think that Maidana will lose a close one to Bradley, who will obviously need a rest/gimme afterwards, and we will see Khan-Maidana/Bradley-TBA share a bill. Don't laugh, I was right when I stated all along that Hatton and Floyd would eventually meet, though it meant that we missed out on the Hatton-Witter superfight.

Tyson's move did led to Lewis-Holyfield I and II and the eventual Tyson fight. Hatton and Floyd met in a big fight. Khan will face either Maidana or Bradley, it is the business.

As for Paulie the non-puncher, yeah, he cannot punch and has only scored 5 KOs in 20+ fights. Locche scored about 10-15 in over 100 fights -- I guess he was shite an' all.

Khan should have fought Murray or Thaxton, he didn't, but if he fights Bradley down the line then what will we remember? The absence of the domestic fights or the big US fight with Bradley? Yeah, yeah, we all would have preferred Hatton to fight Witter in Ponds Forge Centre but here in the real world a large amount of people were happy with Floyd in Vegas -- funny that.
Perhaps the same result too, Witter would have been a nightmare for Hatton in hindsight.

Spot on. I don't dispute that Khan is chinny boxerbob, but you have to understand Khan, his managers and promoters are milking it as much as they can until Khan is a position where he has to fight a puncher. Its business. Why put him in with a fighter who has a good chance at beating him when they can make more money fighting Malignaggi? As fans we don't like it but Khan will face a puncher eventually. As for his spat with Froch, they're both as bad as each other. Froch's resume is far greater mind, but I feel Khan has the greater potential and will have the better career in the long run. I mean the guy's still only 23.

Calling Amir a bum is too strong for my liking but otherwise all of this is true. You could also add Amir calling out fighters, stating he was going to fight them, then instead fighting a handpicked non-puncher instead, no explanation given.

He did this recently with Maidana then Malignaggi.

Having HBO and Golden Boy unite to make a puncher go away is pretty embarrassing.

The lad is 23, which in my book means you can allow him a few things....

He can dodge a few people (for now), make his money and save the high risk fights for the end of his career in the same way that Calzaghe, Hatton and numerous people have done. Because he won an olympic medal doesn't mean he's going to mature as a fighter any quicker than anyone else. Who can blame him for dodging a dangerous puncher like Thaxton as a 19/20 year old!?

He can also be forgiven for running his mouth off in response to an older fighter who should have been more mature and secure in himself than to stick the knife in a younger boxer because of his own jealousies about lack of public exposure. Froch needs to worry more about himself and how easy he is to hit!

If we're still having these debates about Khan's opponents in 12 months / 2 years, then yes fair enough we can say he was overprotected, but we're talking about building a fighter and a career here, not instant gratification for internet geeks who think they can demand who he should fight. I think we'll see him take on tougher challenges and punchers as Goldenboy feel they have made their investment back on him......and we may well see him get sparked again once or twice. It would be nice to see him getting a bit more support from British Fans along the way though...........
