I was reading through an old magazine I inherited from my uncle and there was a small piece on Jesus Pimental. The article said he was one of the hardest punchers for his weight in history.

I’ve never come across this guy before. Anyone here have any memories to share?

I saw his fight with Ruben Olivares on Spanish Television when I was kid. It was probably several weeks after the actual fight. I believe he was somewhat of a regular on that network. Another good one was Chucho Garcia.

Ezzard, you should repost this question to the West Coast thread. Lots of those guys saw Pimental live in LA. I'm sure they would have some fascinating recollections. I know Frank Baltazar saw Pimental, and Rick Farris was Oliviares sparring partner for the Pimental fight, if memory serves.

Pimentel was very good, Ezzard. The fight with Olivares is on youtube, I watched it the other day. Give me a minute...

That's right, Chucho Castillo, though there was a Chucho Garcia around the same time. Kiki, you're the one with the glasses, right ?

Yes, thats me with the four eyes. Chucho Garcia was around the same time as Pimentel, but he was a welterweight.
