It saddens me that El feo didn't make it, he would have taken Giardello to school.

Probably in 6 months. We used to do it four times a year, but there isn't as much interest as there used to be. Many people would just like to talk about heavyweights. (Currently there are 15 topics about heavyweights on page 1 of Boxers of the Past.)

I like it Alp, the BoxRec HOF should be here with the all the boxing enthusists on this site. They should all be checking in and supporting this.

Well I am glad that like it. We get a chance to review the careers of fighters of all weight divisions over more than 100 years. How can that not be interesting?

I think generally speaking the people that do vote really have an aprereciation for the history of the sport and not just the usual things that gets rehashed over and over.

Like everyone else, there are a few guys that I can't believe that we still have not elected. However, if you look at who has been elected, there are no jokes.
Also the biases that you might expect have not occurred.

-Only the great heavyweights have been elected. Only 12 of the 87 fighters elected were primarily heavyweights.
-The "old-timers" have not been neglected. 38 of the 87 elected so far ended their careers before World War II.
-Fighters from several different countries have been elected.
Our voting has been a lot better than the IBHOF.

I just wish a few things were different:
-I wish more people would vote.
-I wish that everyone that does vote would vote for 25 names.
-I wish there would be more "debate" about the voting. not just the "I can'' believe so and so didn't get in". State your case why.

Overall though, it has been fun.

My votes have evolved....or at least morphed along the way. I read something that changes my mind and names that were in last time are gone this time around and vice versa. I had to catch up on Fred Millers history....this was my first vote for him....Maxie Rosenbloom as well. They have some great info in Canastota that I want peruse the next time I'm out there. ( was offered a look see through there collection upon request). I just wish I could get my hands on some film of Rosenbloom in the ring. Instead of just those B movies he made.

I think I voted for Freddie Miller. He is a very underrated all time great.

Don't remember? My cousin was Tommy Paul. Freddie beat him for the title and wouldn't rematch him.
