All of those guys could await down the road, and all of them would be terrific fights. But Khan's promoter, Richard Schaefer, tossed around another name that few people had considered.

"He wants Maidana but obviously he's not available," Schaefer said. "What I'd like to do is make a fight with Michael Katsidis. Can you imagine that?"

Katsidis is one of the best action fighters in boxing and won an interim lightweight title by stopping previously unbeaten Kevin Mitchell in the third round Saturday night in London.

Schaefer said that Khan would like to fight again before Ramadan, the Islamic month of fasting, which begins Aug. 11. The timing works out well because Marquez faces Diaz in a pay-per-view event July 31 in Las Vegas, and Schaefer has toyed with the idea of doing a split-site doubleheader with Khan fighting in Europe as part of the same telecast.

"Maybe there's that possibility," Schaefer said. "We'll see what we can work out."

would be a tough fight but khan is too big for micheal and would completely outclass and stop him. thoughts?

Khan will be bigger big - he might be taller than Katsidis, but Katsidis is a monster, probably the strongest at 135, so I'm not sure how much of an advantage that would be.

Katsidis should try and get his title shot, see if he can win a belt, and take that into negotiations.

i think katsidis would smoke khan quicker then what prescott did.........

they'd have to offer katsidis alot of money to give up his title

There's a lot of people to fight at Light Welter before thinking about fighting blown up Lightweights. I would like to see him in with Maidana next and then Bradley or Alexander. Very good division at the moment

khan would punish katsidis,it would be one-sided.

Kastisdis is a very good fighter no disputing it.... but he is very much proven. His level has been set since way before the Mitchell fight, so not sure why people are now hyping him up as the best thing since sliced bread.

He might beat Marquez, but thats only because Marquez is 38 and just lost every second of every round in his last fight. He hasn't improved, its just Mitchell isn't what people (myself included) thought he could be.

Katsidis would be an excellent stand in for Maidana, but I'd prefer Maidana

maidana has a back injury, that is why he pulled out of the bradley fight

Maidana is injured and Khan wants to fight in July..it's alot better than Khan vs Prescott

Katsidis is a big strong light welter as well so i don't think there is going to be a major size difference!

Despite your ridiculous attempts to use this to slag off Khan, it's actually his promoter mentioning he fights a lighter guy, not Khan. And who else is available? Khan said he wanted Maidana, he's injured, Bradley and Alexander have fights planned. Who should he fight then? Katsidis is a name, would Ajose Olusegun really be a better opponent? Or maybe anyone other than Mayweather, Pacquiao and Paul Williams is merely him trying to duck people

Many were claiming that Khan would have no chance against Katsidis a while back. At least you are acknowledging Khan's improvements!

Merely mentioned the well trodden path he has taken in fighting lighter guys .. did maidana injure himself between Khan calling him out and Schaefer reminding us Maidana was unavailable?? of course not

I`d be happy to see him fight Urango .. well known guy, good punch ... natural lt-welter
OK he has lost to the top guys he has faced .. it would be a good measuring stick to go by until his people are confident in Khans chin

I'd like to see a Prescott vs Khan in UK but admittedly there is not much in it for Khan in terms of risk vs reward except for pride. Katsidis though would be a better fight by a mile IMO.
