Funniest thing I've heard in years. According to Luca Messi, one of his cornermen against Ryan Rhodes will be his brother, who's day job is as a Catholic priest working in the Vatican !

He comes across as a decent bloke!

What he said near the end was quite touching -he lights a candle for him and his opponent, hoping enither comes to any harm.

This reminds me of middleweight Terry Christle, who liked hammering the living daylights out of his opponents before stitching up the same guys afterwards - as a doctor.

Yeah lighting a candle is a nice touch - just never sure how religious people can justify taking part in violent sports ? When the going gets really tough can they motivate themselves to really punish their opponent ?

Because it's a sporting contest?

The whole argument in favour of boxing is that it's a sport, and is controlled - it's not random violence.
