...f*cking retard to work here, but it helps!"
That sign should be posted on every UK promoters wall
discuss.

Many would use an inferior quality blue tack whilst telling us it cost ten pound a pack.
After it falls down, they'll blame the fact that the nearby television ignored it so it was inevitable.
Then they'll photocopy loads, staple inferior copies everywhere and expect us not to notice the difference.

If it's such a simple science, why don't you two take out a licence and promote? You seem to be experts so what's stopping you? Please explain?
Remember, the easiest profession in the world is to be a critic.

Oh, I'd be a shit promoter, no doubt about that.

Depends mate. You could definitely promote at the level that 70% of licence holders do today, but then they aren't real promoters either, they just hold licences. There's only a handful of promoters worthy of the description IMO — i.e., people who promote rather than stage events.

Yes it is. On the other hand, you could also say that those who have the most right to BE critics are the people who pay for the product.

It all revolves around TV money at the end of the day.
Look at Tarver vs Dawson I & II.
HBO paid like $3m for each fight, yet neither drew more than 1200 people.

I dont know how you can say Mr Allegedly is a retard.
He puts his fighters in for miniumm risk / max fincial reward.
He walks away from his shows with a big cut of money - and his fighters bank accounts receive a healthy paying in amount as well - for beating up some East European you never heard of
He can put Amir Khan on pay per view in a Commonwelath title fight - and people actually will buy it
If he can line his pockets for routinely making mismatchs and greedy -pay per view rip offs - I'd say he was a very smart businessman
Retards are the ones who pay for the crap =-- British Boxing Fans !!!!

Lets be consistent here- it's not just one promoter that uses that style of matchmaking.
A recent boxrec article talked about how amazingly special a fighter was for doing just that.
Maybe thats the way to go... WWE style ringwalks, and mobs of fans chanting "walking along, singing a song..." etc.

Fair point.
I admire the chase for consistency.
Internet boxing fans are very disestablishmentarian. Loving to knock the mainstream and promote the obscure.
Hate Hatton, love Witter. Mock Khan, laud Murray.

I think it's more the "middle ground" than the obscure that people like to "promote."
Sometimes there are good shows, and decent boxers who are genuinly obscure that go totally under everyones radar.

I have always been amused by the idea of asking blokes in the street their opinions.
What's next? approaching men in public toilets, that's what.
disgusting
tut tut tut

the next bloke in the street only knows who khan, hatton and audley are.
so everyone else is obscure, and if you like any other boxers than those, you are against the establishment?
weirdly enough, if you go in ertain hairdressers in a small town in south yorkshire, approx 1/2 hour before certain aircraft take-off times, you will find old men talking about chad dawson.

Here's another cliched Internet Forum line of thinking.
Calzaghe is shit for fighting patsies.
Calzaghe is pussy for staying with Warren.
Calzaghe is shit for leaving Warren and making millions fighting old men.
Calzaghe is millionaire, unbeaten and household name.
Froch is shot for having hands down all time.
Froch is great for having hands down in wars.
Froch is great for chasing hard fights.
Froch is great for being loyal to MH.
Froch breath of fresh air.
Froch loses.
Froch is limited.
Froch is idiot for staying with MH.
Froch is big-mouth twat.
Froch idiot for signing way future in hard fights he could lose.
Froch is unknown, unseen and worth a fraction of Calzaghe.
If Internet boxing fans were choosing the greatest sprinter of all time they wouldn't pick Bolt, Lewis or Owens. They'd go for Frankie Fredericks because he had it harder, came from a poor nation and raced in the toughest era.
Don't get me wrong, I'm one of them.

You can't say that. People need to beleive that there is always "some way" that things can be done better.
I's human nature. Like with government, it's easy to criticise them, because by criticising them we are actually subcnsciously forming the opinion that things can be better.
Here is a song that sums it up well:
