Damon Hague: dream on

Damon Hague will take on Shrewsbury's Roddy Doran on November 28 in Derby in a WBF eliminator for the super-middleweight title held by Robin Reid.
"I've been in the gym solidly for the last 15 weeks and simply cannot wait to get back in the ring," said Hague. "And once I've disposed of Doran, the prospect of fighting Robin Reid is fantastic for everyone involved."
As if...

And can't Howard Eastman draw a crowd in London? His nickname is nice and all, but the Battersea Bomber fought in Norwich in his last fight in front of an audience there to see the abortive match between Herbie Hide and Mike Holden; now he's fighting in Derby next month in front of an audience there to see Damon Hague.
Oh well, at least he has something in common with Bernard Hopkins. Neither man can sell out a phone booth in their home cities.

The last time I saw Howard draw a sell out crowd in London, was the ABA SW Divs in the early 90's. I was in them too.

Damon Hague is one of the worst fighters to lay claim to a title that I have ever seen.

He cant fight, but he can sell tickets.

Reid KO3 Hague

Hague was knocked out in his last fight against Wayne Pinder, but the referee botched things and allowed him to continue. A third Hague-Pinder fight looked a natural, but Hague got a break last time and his camp don't intend to push their luck again. He sells too many tickets.
It's quite pointed that Hague and his cronies are calling out Robin Reid at this moment. Everyone knows Reid is targetting Sven Ottke and his genuine world titles, and in turn a rematch with Joe Calzaghe. That's why Hague feels bold enough to talk Reid. It's a joke.

Have to agree Bennie, Hague is a hometown ticket seller and looks little more than a glorified brawler to me. Reid would have little trouble dispatching him within 5 in my opinion, probably within 3.
