Witter knows nothing about this fight

Hearing whispers that Witter has been contacted and knows nothing about this fight. Northern Ireland newspapers have a habit of talking up fights (look at the names banded around for Brian Magee), and this might be another cock and bull story.
We'll see.

I've always thought warren might make this fight as a get out for Hatton.
I don't think warren likes Ricky's chances with Witter. ( Ok Hatton might beat him, but it'd be a very risky fight all the same )
And what would Frank be left with then? A fighter he can't sell for love nor money.
You'd think Magee has the chin to take Witter's power, and as a result might just run him out of the ring - if he's motivated that is, and cuts down to 20 fags a day.

But as bennie says, Witter knows nothing about this fight?? You'd think someone might have mentioned it to him in passing!

Boxing Central are running the story so there might be something in it. Who knows? I won't believe it till I see them in the ring together.

Well something needed to happen with Witter it's gone beyond a joke now.

You just can't beat a quality double-header. I really hope this gets made.

Maybe, I doubt it, but maybe Warren has finally realized after the Gomez-Arthur classic that the best fights involve showdowns between domestic fighters. Sinclair-Vincent is another one to look forward to.

:D Where did you get your info from, Steve? lol.

Just to reiterate this story is absolute bollocks at this moment in time. Rang Witter at 4pm and he knew bugar all about the fight, he's still waiting for Warren to get back to him over the Pinto fight (which would be on undercard of Harrison-Medina).

I'm not saying Witter-Magee won't happen but obviously until Warren has the courtesy to speak to Team Witter it remains far from made. Mike Kelly from the Belfast Telegraph has pulled this story from thin air before. You never know if keeps writing about it one day the fight might happen.

If it does happen, it's a tough fight for Witter.

Interesting though that Warren's site hasn't promptly denied that the rumour is true, unlike the last time there was talk of these two going at it.

Looks to me like Warren has offered Magee the fight coz the fight with Pinto fell through. Seems like he hasn't consulted with Witter prior to offering him the fight. This happened earlier in the year too. See http://www.irish-boxing.com/october03/2 ... lation.htm for quotes from both sides.

This in Brendon Ingle as quoted on secondsout.com

“I can tell you that Witter vs Magee is not happening on November 29.Junior may box on that date but not against Magee.”

Ah well, pity. would be a very good fight for both of them.
