I wondered why they never fought nor unify the crowns. Who wins this fight?

Would have been a tough fight because Mitchell didn't give up, but I can't see him beating Nelson. Wouldn't have shocked me to see a close fight until late,when the "The Professor" lands a big right and takes Mitchell out

Nelson didnt want to fight Mitchell because he was a white south african and the whole continent of Africa shared disgust at the apartheid system implemented by White South Africans.

For the same reason Lloyd Honeyghan gave up his WBA welterweight belt rather than fight harold volbrecht and David Bey turned down a title shot against Gerrie coetzee.

Some were'nt so choosy Mark Breland hammered Volbrecht. Greg Page brutalised Coetzee.

The sanctions against SA.....I wonder how many countries dealt with SA via the back door. I'm not sure they did any good anyway as it was hurting the SA people moreso than the government

I think alot of peeps big time underestimate Mitchell. He was a HHELLLava fighter. A real fighters fighter. And I would of loved to of seen this fight.
It's a shame that S.Africa had there BS going on.
Nelson wins 9-6
