I know that I will be disagreed with, but I absolutely agree with Tarver. Especially that Roy Jones would have steamrollered him 5 years ago, and the 'little cruiserweight title' comment was bang on the money.

The little cruiserweight title is true. It isn't anything in the world scheme really. And I will agree with the RJJ of 5yrs ago would have laughed past Danny - most likely.
I wonder what the reason, if Tarver's not BS'ing that Danny wouldn't fight him? I'm hoping not scared. Money then?
I think at this stage, yes, Danny is riding the coattails of RJJ win, but I don't really have too much a problem so far with his opponent choices. Siaca was the only p!ss poor choice he's had IMO. Briggs will be a fight and domestically it's a big fight even despite Briggs' inactivity, but on the world scene it means nothing....now. RJJ was a big name, regardless of skill deterioration and a good way to get Green's name more publicly known.
If Green is just going for some extra surfing money with his ongoing fights, I have no problem with this.
However I hope that he scales back any "I'm gonna be the best" or "the best won't fight me" talk while he takes calculated fights.

tarver is just a sook because he missed out on a big payday. it was ok for him to carry on like a goose a few years ago but now the shoe is on the other foot he is pissed. tough luck. green doesn't owe him anything. he is not obliged to fight tarver, so he has nothing to cry about imo.
he may be right that the belt green holds is nothing flash, but it doesn't need to be. green generates big money for his fights now. that's all that matters really.
i like action fighters like green and am also dissapointed with facing someone who hasn't fought for 3 years. at the same time though i'm surprised that he is fighting such a big banger in briggs regardless of inactivity. it is still a quite risky fight in many aspects. just because the amount of mongrel in briggs. it will be very interesting to see what happens.
but ffs, i hope green does fight one of the other cruiser belt holders soon though. clearly it would be much more interesting to watch.
as far as 5 years ago he would have been smashed by jones jnr, well although like most people thought jones jnr in their fight would school green, it didn't happen, so i don't see any reason why green wouldn't have done the same thing back then too.

I have to agree there

agree with you buster
who knows who dodged who. I know that green made them the first offer and they turned it down. dont know about the other ones though. green is a comodity in oz and doesnt need tarver, not even a little bit.
im not sure what the difference is between the world titles ? what makes greens belt worthless ? can abody explain that to me ?
i would have to agree with others though that jones five years ago probably would have whooped green but not for the same reasons. 5 years ago jones was probably much quiker no doubt (didnt look to shabby against lacy who is simmilar to green in some ways)
but green wasnt half the boxer he is now back then. he seems to have emproved greately in the last few years ?
briggs is younger than green and is a very simmilar fighter and a big banger too. its an awsome match up possibly a couple years late but who cares. just hope briggs is ready ?
should be a war if he is!!!
huck and cunningham seem to be the most highly regarded in the division, they dont seem to get to much shit for fighting nobodys inbetween big fights though. (minto v huck) etc etc

Isnt it funny how people perceive things differently. I believe tarver did not accept Greens first challenge at Subi Oval and then accepted another but priced himself out of it.
If Green really is that irrellevenat why did Magic Man feel it neccessary to ring up and blast the guy.....strange tactics Antonio.
He then goes on to say that he wants to end his career with somthing significant, like a big heavyweight fight. If he is looking at ending his career with this one fight can I think that if he fought Green that would be his last fight, not making Green in insignificant then !!
Tarver can see he has missed his chance or is this publicity building up to something in December ??
Wea ll know RJJ greatness and it has been done to death, but I bet even Tarver had a couple of dollars on Roy beating Danny !!! Get over it Antonio, at the moment you are the only thing that is insignificant.

hes not a farce he was WBA light heavy champ a few years ago i didnt see tarver jumping in the ring with him. he is what he is - a hard hitting light-heavy/light-cruiser but is limited in boxing skills. anyone who thinks hes the ozzie ali is wrong i dont think people see him in a different light after beating a faded roy

As near as I can make out Tarver is 41 years old, lost his last two fights and has not fought in the last 12 months.
Maybe the heavyweight he wants to fight is Bob Mirovic.

Good ol Mason Dixon should no more than anyone that proffessional boxing for the most part is entertainment especially with 100 world titles, listening to Tarver is like hearing RJJ all over again. If Danny Green is nothing why is Antonio always talking about him maybe sylvester didnt pay him so he needs a big cheque anyways the wizard of oz will cast a spell all over the magic man

i feel like Dennis Cometti

Who said he was the Ozzie(Aussie) Ali? I personally don't care if you are of the opinion that people don't see him in a new light, I've always thought he has enough mongrel, heart and power to wipe out the Lt Heavy division, just never got the chance, you like most seen 1 fight against Mundine at supermiddle and went..right he's limited. No excuses, he got beat well that night 118-111 IMO, but everyone is allowed a bad performance in there career.

Yeah in that time he's realized he needed to carry a pocket dictionary when ever he commentated, because "Dirrell is
CONVULGING"???????????
