Like my man Frankie here, I have a soft spot for Napa.

However, Stuey Hall is from my home town of Darlington and after turning pro with little amateur experience very late, he's done well to get this crack.

I hope he does the business.

Scouser John Watson is a nice lad and a nice boxer on the undercard.

Don't think Hall will have enough experiance and savvy for Napa, maybe a bit too soon for him but you have to take the fight.

Would like to see Watson haven't seen him in action in over a year.

Im hoping for Hall. He's not a kid,and despite only 8 fights was a good amateur. He has home advantage and is definately the fresher man.

Hall will win this, he's really decent.

I like Hall, he has freshness and strength advantage over Napa, but to be honest at British level I see Napa as just a bit too clever and experienced for all the current challengers unless he ages overnight. I take another Napa points victory by a 3-4 rounds after a good start by Hall.

Not sure how much amateur experience Hall has as an adult, but I know he was training at the Larchfield Street gym in Darlington when he was as young as eleven/twelve, and was regarded as one of the more talanted lads even then.

I would like to see Stuart Hall bring Darlington it's first British title after Isaac Ward in 2006 and Francis Jones in 2007 fell short to Martin Power and Kevin Anderson respectively. Jones particularly, with Jim Watt saying he set a new standard for a losing effort in a title fight.

I also only realised yesterday from the local paper that this Hainy lad from Derby, who is up against Jeffries, I saw his first pro fight, Sky Televised it and it was a belter. He is greener that Jeffries by a long way, but he will be extremely fit and game and will give Jefries a real good fight in my view.

I'll like Napa as well. He's beautiful to watch, he's got excellent timing and he picks his punches perfectly. It's a shame his natural fighting weight is so low, forcing him to move up to get decent fights.

I've not seen Stuart Hall fight (just heard his commentary on 'It's a knockout'), but he's got a decent size advantage which will cause Napa problems if Hall can box from a distance (ala Malik Bouziane).

i must confess i ain't seen Hall fight, pro boxing is more or less banned in Darlo, facility wise, cos some dickheads got a bit naughty a few years back.

He looks pretty strong from what I've seen of him, fresh, and he sounds incredibly determined.......surely with Napa's first, virtually zero stoppage power, and less importantly, his age....surely Hall's got a massive chance. He will chase Napa round the ring and go out on his sword if need be I'm convinced, but I can't see Napa having the power to get him out of there....

Hall made his debut at the Engineers in Darlo mate. The Rat was actually on the door.

Well done to the lad - in the history books locally now for ever - first ever Lonsdale for Darlington!

yeah I thought that was a mixed Thai and Boxing show. A fight of British title stature is not viable here any more, hence they're in Peterlee, in any event, I haven't followed the local action so much for a couple years. Fife, followed by Hunter Booth is all I've mnaged lately, have to get back into it. Was Hall as bad as someone said in the other thread? It's kind of ironic that Francis and Argie got turned back so violently and Hall gets a man with 8 defeats that seemingly quit out the blue. However, I am pleased for the guy certainly, he should be over the moon, and as you say, he is the first!
