Got a feeling I'll be in the minority here, but put me down for Foster to figure him out & put him to sleep around the seventh.

Really almost anything could happen in this fight. I have them as two of the top 5 light heavyweights ever. Foster was a brutal puncher, though Spinks had the better chin and could punch hard himself. Both were extremely tall for light heavyweights. Both fighters had a lot of heart. Spinks didn't look pretty but he had a style that worked for him and seemed to throw other guys off.

Easy to imagine them both being cautious; at least in the early rounds. However, the action would probably gradually begin to pick up. I think one of them gets hurt. The big question is if they can survive. Maybe it would then be over. However, I could see one guy rallying after being hurt or decked.

I think if they fought 5 times, you would have 5 different result. Each would win a mid round stoppage and each would win a late round stoppage and maybe one fight does the distance. I guess if I had to bet, I would go with Spinks.

I like Spinks to win a 10-5 type decision. I think Michael was the better fighter, Foster's jab would keep it reasonably close but he would find himself losing the exchanges and Spinks awkward movements would drive him nuts.

I agree with you. Lot of people only remember Spinks because he was beheaded by a prime Mike Tyson. He was one of the best 175 pounders of all time. I think the smart money would be on Spinks because he was seemingly awkward and multi-dimensional. Call it a hunch or a feeling, I think Foster would land one of THOSE power shots and end it. It would NOT surprise me at all to see the kayo go the other way or a decision for Spinks. Spinks is unfairly remembered for his admittedly cowardly performance against Tyson. He was a great fighter.

He had a good chin too. He took Gerry Cooney's shots. It is the precision of FOSTER'S SHOTS THAT I think would spell doom for Spinks. Foster looked like he was put on this earth to punch. At heavy, I might change my pick, but at lightheavy. fOSTER GETS IT DONE.

Having thought about this alot, I'm going for Spinx by late TKO
But it's a 55/45 in my book.

Thats about how I see it. I give Spinks a very slight edge. A late round TKO is a good possiblity, though almost anything could happen.

Don't understand why you would not like Spinks. He is a very likeable guy.
