If Frank W arren were to post on this forum; ......

What questions might you ask him, and what suggestions might you make about the future of Frank W arren promotions and its effects on British boxing?

OK, this may get locked and I understand if it does, but just for once if this thread can remain sensible and un-trolled by idiots it could throw some really good input the way of Britains leading promoter who obviously reads what goes on here.

So presuming that he will read this and this forum- which can't be seen by non members, is providing a platform for you to make some open (ish) comments.

What would you consider needs to be done to help our sport flourish?

My opinion-

-Firstly, i'd love to be able to chat with members of his company on here and other forums. Although we're only a tiny percentage of the boxing fans around the country/world, we're the ones who care enough to create an account wishing to front an opinion on the sport. We're a little up the hierarchy then the casual armchair fan so i'd love to be able to make suggestions to promoters. I'd love more interaction with promotional companies. It makes so much sense for both parties.

-Love the youtube channel, great work putting fights on there for casual fans. Perhaps career set playlists would be a good way forward and some of the older boxing from the 90's in particular.

-I'd like FWP to take a greater interest in domestic boxing. I understand that FWP have found themselves without a star attraction for the first time, for a long time but I remember back in the late 90's when you'd put on those tuesday night domestic shows at bethnal green. Just amazing with top notch matches on 70% of the bill and then one or two prospect journeyman types.

-I'd like them to try and push fighters the traditional route again, but I understand it might not be the most lucrative way of doing things but perhaps i'm a little bit traditional in my views of the way a fighter progresses.

-i'd like them not to emphasise the 0 as much and match prospects earlier. I love how Chsiora and Sexton have already fought and rebounded so strongly. Thats testimony to the character of both that they were prepared to take that match so early and rebound well. More of that please.

Finally i'd like to say thanks for giving us some of the most magic nights of boxing. Without the hard work on your part some of my greatest memories wouldn't exist. I'm a boxing fan through and through and overal you've done a fantastic job.

I've got more gripes and suggestions but I won't waste my time in case the thread gets locked. Please no stupid comments- not that i'd expet that on here. :TU:

I would love for Britain's biggest promoter to publicly state that he will not pay sanctioning fees for his fighters to fight for any more "world titles" than the WBC, WBA and WBO. It would be a huge step in the right direction for British boxing and other promoters may be forced to follow suit.

Provided people keep it constructive and don't post opinion, I see no reason to lock it Jeff. Others may disagree. :TU:

Perhaps this would be a much greater platform for discussion? Frank is in many ways the chap who controls boxing in the UK- here frank would probably expect a much more varied selection of questions and suggestions. Its wishful thinking perhaps but if he were to have time to come on here and chat with fans who have constructive things to say it would be a great bit of PR.

I think some of the ridiculous things that people write on forums are due to not realising that on the recieving end of their insult is a real person.

What do you think of my above questions/suggestions BC, you clearly have a link to FWP.

Cheers, if you have time.

Frank W is undoubtedly the top British promoter of the last twenty or so years.

I'd like him to give us better value for money when the time comes for the next PPV showing, including at least 3 competitive fights prior to the main event. I like watching the prospects coming through but the title fights/main support bouts should be more even affairs.

I think it's fair to include the IBF but understand what you mean about the big four. That said, to be fair to FWP it feels like ages since any World title fight from a lower organisation. Not sure when but it must have been a while ago now ?

Of course, IBF as well, Jesus, there's eve so many "legitimate" world titles I'm beginning to forget them! I would just like fwp to make a statement regarding wbu etc. so that other promoters are forced to follow suit or look silly. Its the one thing I would most like to change about boxing and only someone with fwanks power may actually be able to do something about it. Maybe......,

It would be interesting to read who Frank regards as the best fighter he has ever promoted to date, the dirt on the dirtiest, Mike Tyson, and so on and so forth. Promoters always have a million stories.

at the moment he's handling the olympians and the walsh brothers, which guarantees half a dozen non-competitive fights on the bill until they all step up a bit, which doesn't make the tickets particlularly attractive from a vfm perspective

I'd ask him why he feels that most of his marquee fighters end up leaving him to go with other promoters. It has happened with Ricky Hatton, Amir Khan, Joe Calzaghe at the end of his career and numerous others. Maybe they feel they just reach a certain level with Warren which they cannot go beyond or that Warren cannot deliver genuine super-fights.

I'd also ask him when he feels we will get back to the days when a great show meant 3 or 4 really competitive fights rather than 1 good fight and an undercard full of non-competitive ones. This isn't just a criticism of Warren by the way, all promoters have started to do this and most shows nowadays provide very poor value for money especially if you attend the show itself where decent seats for a world title fight can cost hundreds of pounds.

Frank W arren is still the best promoter in this country and in Europe by a country mile in my view - time and time again he has proved it.

Is there any truth in there being more than one promoter in this country who feels totally and utterly threatened by these forums - that phrase "you dont kick a dead dog" - springs to mind when you think about boxing promoters and boxing forums.

Where is Ant Evans nowadays - he was always rather outspoken concerning Mr W arren - tut tut.

Whilst I am on this thread - I also think Boxing Tw*t From Brentwood Who Crys When He is Sacked bleats and bleats about this forum - yet he fails to state why he doesnt have any criticisms for promoters who take forums and boxing sites to court for having that thing called freedom of speech ??

I would be very interested in his reply - if it is as expected does he expect to be taken to court for his outrageous insults on this very forum over the years?

Or will he do the reasonable thing by contributing to this forum in a constructive manner?

I think Sauerland are in front if everyone Europe at the moment. Look at their fighters Huck, Abraham, Kessler, Cunningham, Valuev, Povetkin, Hernandez, Sylvester and loads more
