What was the fight that made you a Fan?
For me it was Rose Vs Gatelleri. Never heard of boxing until then but it got great press and Rose was at the top of his game, After that I discovered TV ringside and from then I was hooked.

For me it was Trinidad vs Hopkins, my dad borrowed the fight on tape from his work. My dads work mate told him about all the hype surrounding both fighters. I thought it was a really exciting fight (sadly one of the only exciting fights of Hopkins career). Next big fight I really watched that got me totally hooked was Kelly Vs Roy Jones... watching Jones speed, and his hands behind his back knock out punch was totally awesome. Before the fight I had never heard of Jones, so it was really cool watching his older fights.

I was too young to see it live, but an old tape of Ali vs Foreman and Ali vs Frazier 3(Thrilla in Manilla).
I watched spiratically throughout Tysons career and folowed Fenech domestically, i took about 6 years off then watched Kostya vs Jake the snake and eventually stumbled onto Green when Green fought that South african on the Judah/Tzsyu card and have watched every card domestically since.

Seeing Bumper Farrell and his fellow police take apart a gang of no-hopers at Stone's milk bar (which masquaded as a club out the back) in Coogee a long time ago. My father advised me that there were fights with more rules involved, so he recommended the Sydney Stadium.

Still see Rocky occasionally. He takes his cars to the same mechanic I take my old heap to. He still looks fit and well.

I went to the fights before i could walk but watching Brian Janssen fight my uncle in the amateurs when i was really little got me hooked. I was probably about 4 or 5 years old but from what i remember they went at it for the whole fight. Had the crowd on their feet the whole time. Salvador Sanchez v Danny little red Lopez was my first memory of a big fight and loved it.

I was born in September 1947, first child of a returned soldier. I wonder if there are any others here between us in age?
