He proved he was better than McDermott, but to call him 'amazing' is very far-fetched.

i didnt have much to say about tyson fury before tonight but hearing tht he had a tough camp after leaving hughes's camp i have abit more respect for him now, he looked like he cud of easily retired on his stool tonight he looked like he couldnt breathe but he gritted his teeth and got a result.. he will have to trim down and polish his boxing skills abit if he wants to beat chisora becausee like everyone has sed soo far he definetly wasnt amazing..

I think he showed heart tonite and looked very good the first 2 or 3 rounds but then his lack of conditioning started to take its toll.

If he can work on his stamina problems and get a conditioning coach on board he could really do something although he's a rough diamond just needing the right trainer to polish him properly, if he can't get the right guy in Britain then i'd be looking to move to America and try to get proper training and coaching there.

I just think he is big bloke, with fair technique. That said he's a nice kid and has some heart. He needs loads of polishing- take away his physical advantages and he's seriously lacking. He needs to be trained properly and needs to be conditioned correctly. Mcdermot had that won.

Fury didn't look good at all. He need to find a trainer that knows what he is doing he uncule an the rest of his family in the corner was giving him the wrong advice there is plenty of good trainers in Manchester that would look after him he needs to find one !!

I watched it with my brother who only has a passing/betting interest in boxing and he summed it up perfectly! It was like two pissed blokes having a fight and the one who looked like he'd had the least to drink won! They were both rubbish no technique, no skill, no nothing but sky got there monies worth it was certainly entertaining - but so was scott styris knock against surrey just before it! Except that had some talent!!!!! I can't wait for Tysons next fight but for all the wrong reasons!!! He ain't got a chance against Chisora (He can throw a punch properly!)

Amazing he was not.. Yes he got the job done against someone who is at best English Champion level. Tyson was almost falling over in the 6th round from being gassed, and if anyone with a bit more thump and killer instinct then McD was in there, Fury wouldn't have made it to the 9th to get the stoppage.

Won't doubt the heart of Fury, he did march on even tho he looked done, and found the shots he needed to find and drop a very tired McD. But even though the fight showed us Furys heart, it showed us further how his not ready for the next level of opponent just yet. McD was easily landing some nice rights over the top and if that avenue is still open against better opponents, Fury will be dropped.

Imagine if Sexton, Chisora or Rogan was in that ring from the 5/6th round? Fury would have been battered and either dropped or not got off his stool and if he is going to go for the British Title, then these are the sort of fighters he needs to be mixing comfortably with and I don't think he's ready for them just yet. He needs to go for the Swaby/Ferguson level, maybe even Rogan at best.

I kind of agreed with Glenn McCrory that they should forget fighting Chisora at the moment and give Tyson more time to develop. He is still only 21.

I was astonished to hear him say his sparring was against someone who was 11 stone and his cousin who is 25 stone. Mick Hennesey and Fury's handlers need a kick up the arse for letting this youngster go into a fight so unprepared.

Tyson Fury did well and got the job done. He had a bad camp which he will learn from. Give the guy a break we all have off nights or things never go as you plan them. So give him a break. He can do well and we should get behind him. No need to rush him talking about Chisola fighting him, let it be later on when its worth more to both fighters which every fighter deserves.

I do agree it is a disgrace to Fury to be at this level and having that kind of training / sparing. He needs to be surrounded by impartial professionals who know this level of the game and can keep him fit, and not street fighters/gypsy brawlers who can at best show him how to dirty box. Without Fury's natural stature he would have been beaten already.

I think he was always going to beat McDermott in the re-match..........

Tyson was too arrogant in the first match and thought he could blast McDermott out within two rounds. It didn't happen, he had no plan B and so resorted to a brawling tactics, which akin to his dodgy fitness and lack of ten round experience, nearly cost him the fight.

This time, Tyson had a plan and stuck to it, which was to move, stay on the outside and tee everything up behind a long jab. It was very effective in keeping McDermott unsettled and ultimately he couldn't find the rythm to properly attack Tyson. The only thing that could have caught Tyson out this time was his fitness, which for some reason was poor due to him switching trainers and not being able to find suitbale sparring partners. Tyson really needs managing and handling pofessionally and that doesn't seem to be the case at the moment.

I will give him the benefit of the doubt, because he is still only 21 years of age and i feel that he can still develop into a good heavyweight. McDermott is and was a tough test for someone was has only had 10 fights and most of those haven't gone past 3 rounds. Tyson needs to work on his technique a great deal. The way he throws punches sometime is terrible and for a man of his size, he should be generating far more power than he does. I think he is talented and if put in the right hands could develop into a good heavyweight prospect that could reach the European standard, Whether he will be world level material, only time will tell, but at the moment it doesn't look that way.

I like Tyson and will always support him and good look to the kid

On the plus side he showed heart to take the rematch and to gut it out in there. On the downside his conditioning is poor and he is far too easy to hit. I do wonder, especially after his interview, how much he really wants it for himself as opposed to doing it to live up to the expectations of his dad. Kind of like Danny Williams really.
