British title AND wbo ELIMINATOR. However, Brook looks unlikely to feature so the elimintor may be nixed?

Chorley's Michael Jennings squares up to young, unbeaten Sheffield puncher Kell Brook on The Magnificent Seven card in Birmingham on September 18. At stake is the vacant British welterweight title.
Brook, 21-0 (14), has already held this title (as has Jennings) but is eyeing up a shot at a world title if he gets past Jennings, who challenged mighty Miguel Cotto for the WBO welterweight title last year in Madison Square Garden and was halted in five rounds. Jennings has bounced back with two wins to go to 36-2 (17). The 32-year-old is obviously battle-hardened, a man known for boxing skill and stamina.
He constitutes the acid test for Brook, 24, who has done everything right in a destructive pro career to date, when he can get a fight. The muscled, fluid, punch-picking Brook is one of the most avoided men in British boxing and has managed just two or three fights a year in recent years, but Jennings stands up to be counted.
I can see Jennings building up an early lead as he gets on his toes and darts in and out with quick shots, but Brook stays cool, waits for the openings and makes them count. Brook, for me, comes through on a late-round stoppage.

Hi Bennie

had a think about this one and an alternative scenario is coming to mind

i think with Jennings having been stopped for the first time, yes he will open up trying to box in and out, but I think he may well be very tentative in doing so.

Brook's not only a good puncher but a pretty good trap-setter, who adjusts to his opponent's speed and often starts to time them quite early, and to devastating effect.

I think Jennings will taste a bit of that power early and it will put him right into his shell, whereupon I think it'll be a case of Brook having to stalk him somewhat with Jennings' ambition sapped.

I think this is done by 7 or 8, max :TU:

The destructive Kell Brook finally faces a man with the style and experience to stretch him when he faces Michael Jennings in a mouthwatering 12-rounder on The Magnificent Seven card in Birmingham in September.
Brook, a former outstanding British champion from Sheffield who has never travelled further than seven rounds, destroys his opponents in the manner of former Croydon puncher Wayne Alexander – nine of his last 10 opponents have taken the early shower and the one man who did take Kell the distance, Wisbech's too brave Alex Stoda, finished looking like a car-crash victim. The upshot is that unbeaten Brook has boxed only three times since 2008; his frustration spilt out into his private life recently, which is a shame.
The 32-year-old Jennings has seen it all before in a career dating back to 1999. Michael may not render his opponents helpless but he leads them a merry dance as he darts in and out with quality shots from both hands, and can do so for 12 rounds. This is a man who has outboxed the likes of Welsh banger Bradley Pryce, former Crawley hope Ross Minter and Poland's world class Rafal Jackiewicz, among many others. This is a man who challenged Miguel Cotto for the WBO welterweight title last year in Madison Square Garden, where he managed five rounds with one of the best fighters of the modern era. This is a man who 'sits down' on his shots more nowadays, as he showed when he stopped Minter in the ninth round of a domestic classic. OK, Brook is the bigger puncher of the two but a puncher is only a puncher if he lands, and Jennings, the Chorley Lurcher, is not going to idle around like an eight-stone labrador. They say Brook is eyeing up a shot at a world title – what about Jennings? He has tasted the American dream and will want another course.
Much depends on how Brook is affected by his recent conviction for assault, and on how he fares in the later championship rounds against Jennings, if it goes that long, and it probably will. If Brook has never done more than seven rounds, Jennings has done seven rounds or more a whopping 10 times.

jennings has a proper professionals' composure; things don't go well for him and he's always in good shape. boxing is like a trade and he keeps his tools in good order. brook seems to believe too much of the hype around him. kell has looked excellent bashing the last few lads up and jennings would not have done it the same way (he'd have boxed them out though). brook is not the 2nd coming of naseem hamed. the last lad he boxed; no disrespect but he weren't the 6th or 7th best in the world. no way. jennings is by far the best that brook has boxed (by a couple of levels). jennings has boxed big hitters, strong lads and good boxers + has been in over his head; and he still kept on throwing. jennings will win this one (if it finally comes off).

I'm totally behind Mick for this one.

A proper tradesman, as described above, good point and description.

No flannel, no fannying about and no excuses. Just a fit fighter, who boxes properly, can move, jab and pace himself.

Excellent pro and clearly, vastly under-rated on here by all those who love a flash haircut, sparkly shorts and pr.

If Brook beats Jennings I'd firstly be suprised, and secondly take Brook far more seriously as the supposed world class talent so many have him pegged as.

I've been hearing it for 5 years.
