12 rounds:
How do u see this fight? I see Lewis giving Joe trouble, untill the mid round where Lewis starts to slow and Joe starts working him. I see Joe getting a KO around 10 rounds.

Louis, but it wouldn't be easy, no matter who won.

I say Lennox. he uses his height and reach to keep Louis at a distance. Now if it turned into a brawl, which c'mon u know it wouldn't, i think louis had a better chin and would do a Rahman on Lewis. But i dont see him landing anything to significant on lennox.

That sounds about right. And if they fought 5 times, I could see Lewis winning 1 or 2 of them.

As much as I love Joe, I think I slightly favor Lewis here. Louis would've given Lennox plenty to think about at all times with his speed, skill, and power, but he'd also have to sell out a fair bit and I think Lewis would be smart/crafty enough to use the ol' jab-and-grab, right cross-and-grab routine when he has to in order to tire out Joe. As difficult as it was to watch, it's an incredibly effective technique if one needs to fall back on it, so long as they're big and strong enough to really sap the opponent.

It's hard to argue with that view point, especially because I tend to agree with it, but I give Louis a slight edge because he was very good at fighting out of a clinch and his power could be delivered in very close quarters.

Lewis would have probably been a very tough matchup for just about anyone.

I agree. I think Lewis would be a case that beats a lot of Greats generally considered better than him, but could very well lose to a lesser fighter whom he underestimates.

Yeah. A prime Louis is not a patch on a washed-up Holyfield or overweight Mercer, both of whom arguably decisioned Lewis in his prime.

Obviously, the second fight. I had Lewis winning that by two points --- a case can be made Holyfield won it narrowly. It was as embarrassing for Lewis as the first fight was comprehensive.

The case can be made he lost it, as I see it. It was pretty damn tight, & that really had more to do with Lewis being lazy & ineffectual than it did Holyfield improving significantly.

It's all an aside, anyway. I doubt Lewis, "toys" with Louis en route to an early KO.

Much better than Schmeling who knocked Louis out!

Louis has the perfect style to blast out bigger guys like Lewis. Lennox might trouble Joe with his height and reach early but Joe with his super quick assault and great sense of timing would get eventually get inside and once that happened it's all over.
