a chin like Tex Cobb.......
For me its Tommy Hearns.. His Jab, Right cross, and also the way he could put the combos together. The speed the power, he had everything in the offence department. Also he had great reflexes. Btw I'm thinking of him @147 lbs.
Tho u could still argue a case for Robinson, or Greb.

Robinson and Greb already have a great chin though.

Agreed on Hearns, but that would be a downgrade at chin for Greb.

I agree Greb had a great chin. But being that he was a MW I cannot imigine him having a better chin then a HW like Cobb.

He fought at heavyweight too, isn't the premise p4p? Greb had a great chin long enough for 5 Cobb careers.

This is a ridiculous premise, but if that's the criteria all of a sudden Roy Jones Jr is at or near the top of the list.

It's crazy to say that if Greb had Cobbs chin he would be downgraded! The only fighter I can think of that might be downgraded was Chuvalo. Anyway it's a waste of time debating such triviality.

Greb had a better chin than Cobb, nothing crazy about it. It is a fact.

We've seen him get solidly outboxed though.

O yea Graham for sure. i'd say quite possibly he coulda been the best Brit ever if he had a chin. Even better then Calzaghe. Bear in mind wen he lost to Kalambay, in the first fight, it was due to his fear of commiting himself on the exchanges, and is why he dropped the dec. And the second fight forget it. Now wiv the McCallum fight he done better, cos Mike was going to his body more. However his chin was made of egg shell.

His whole style was based on not getting hit, never mind cleanly, at all.
It's no shame getting your lights turned out by Julian Jackson, but I often wondered whether his chin was bad or worse than most make out purely because he rarely got hit cleanly in his pomp.
The first Kalambay fight, when he landed cleanly, Graham was completely gone at the end of the 12th - He did well to finish on his feet and admitted as much in the post fight interview.
EDIT: Also meant to mention that he always seemed to have an excuse for his losses - He blamed the first Sumbu loss to personal issues (maritial? can't remember) and also the Panamanian management team that Eastwood/Shaw brought in to make him more TV/fan friendly and more "aggressive", which didn't really work with his style (or what became later known as the Ingle style).

Herol had won 38 on the spin before shifting trainers and boxing aggressively. He lost to Kalambey who turned out to be a very capable boxer at world level. He dropped Sumbu twice in the rematch and was robbed in Italy. He lost by a single point to McCallum after having a point deducted for spinning Mike around. After getting hit flush by Julian Jackson the only way is down; Jackson has to be the hardest hitting middleweight of the last 50 years. Herol got knocked out onc e and stopped twice in 54 fights. That is not a china chin.
