Exciting British and Commonwealth light-middleweight champion Jamie Moore goes for revenge when he defends his titles against the only man to have beaten him, Hamilton's Scott Dixon, on the big Belfast bill at the Kings Hall on November 22. Dixon climbed off the floor to outlast Moore in their first fight in July 2001 in Moore's own hometown of Manchester - stopping him with body shots in the fifth round. Moore had been finishing opponents early up to then but learned a harsh lesson that night: they don't all fold so easily. He has since reeled off six straight wins, including a comprehensive points win over the previously unbeaten Michael Jones for the British and Commonwealth titles and an impressive first defence against Gary Logan last month.

If ever a defeat "made" a fighter then it's the one Moore suffered 2 years ago against Dixon. Looking at them now I'll be very surprised if the brave Scot hears the bell for the 3rd.

Have to agree, I think Scott's gone backwards since then and Moore's moved on. I would place Dixon on a par with Logan now, who didn't fair to well.

However, Dixon did have a good result on Saturday - its an excellent match up for him. Revenge and keeping busy - talk about killing two birds with one stone.

Dixon's been baiting Moore in the Boxing News ("If he's any kind of man, he'll fight me again," etc) and gets his wish of a rematch. He doesn't really deserve a title shot on current form and, given Moore's last showing, might live to regret his words.

Yeah, but as a mark time out I can't think of anyone better for Moore. What a confidence booster it would be to eliminate the sole black mark on his record.

No he doesn't and yes he will

moore should win by KO

but history does has a happening of repeating itself

I like the way Moore is keeping busy, he has come on leaps and bounds and should win this fight with plenty to spare.

Very interesting fight. I'm still not convinced by Moore although he has bounced back marvellously. Moore's demolition over Logan to me said more about the limitations of Takaloo than suggesting that Jamie will advance beyond domestic level.

If you can beat a guy once you can do it again so if Dixon can weather the early storm he will fancy his chances late on. Three worrying facts for him though (actually maybe four).

1. Moore had Dixon down and almost out the first time
2. Moore effectively beat himself by running out of gas
3. Moore has subsequently improved whilst Dixon has regressed
4. Moore's stamina passed the test at short notice against Michael Jones
5. Moore nailed Logan with some great body shots which spells curtains for Dixon.
6. I think Dixon's fucked now.

Mr lightsoot at this moment in time I'd say there was more chance of Peter Buckley stopping Scott Harrison late than of Dixon pulling off a similar feat against Jamie Moore.

I don't think Moore is or ever will be true world class but he's closing in on the #1 spot in Britain.

While I don't think Dixon will beat more, I still agree wholeheartedly with this statement. Logan and Rock are low top ten at best (domestically I'm refering to) yet both gave Takaloo all kinds of problems.

Lightsoot, you also made some valid points about the first fight, it seems people have forgotten how (for the most part) Moore dominated procedings.

He just didn't have the experience to slow down. He's got that now, and I think will win confortably.
