Just had a message from the manager of IBF champion, I think you need to read it.

"Tell James Hare's people to start lobbying the IBF about an eliminator - and fast. Hare's in the top five and two of the other fighters in there (Damgaard and Kyvelos) appear to have other obligations. The other two guys, Celaya and Trabant, aren't exactly Leonard and Hearns. Hare needs to organize it quickly or Don King is going to get someone in there to fight Rafael Pineda for the no. 1 spot and leapfrog Hare. Mark my words."

This guys had some dealings with King and knows how he works. He (obviously) believes Spinks will come through against Mayorga.

Just thought I'd let you know.

Interesting to hear that. It might be worth Hare holding back a bit though, there's no point rushing him at the moment.

I can't see the light punching Spinks holding off Mayorga for long though - then El Matador will be looking to move up for a super fight at light middle.

So we might get three vacant belts around the same time.

Hey Stu look out it's becoming fashionable. Don't rule out PBF vs Oscar one day. Although personally I don't think Mayweather would get past Magarito - the fight they're looking to put together at 147.

Possibly, however the devision isn't great at all. As Kurt Ermhoff said the two leading fighters Celaya and Trabant are beatable. Those who have seen Danmguard knows he to is also beatable. Although I aint seen Kyvelos in action.

Hare is 27 and although his ranking is a little high must grap any opportunity he can. He's in his prime, not going to get alot better and as you said the soon there will be an influx of Light Welter's (possibly including Hatton - if his weight making problems are correct) who will see this as a golden opportunity to capture belts.

Whether Spinks wins or loses, Hare got to get himself into the mandatory position. It can still be another year before he actually steps in the ring with Spinks or Mayorga.

But Arum's already quoted as saying he wants Floyd to win a title at 147 next year, in order to set up a super fight in late 2004 with Oscar.

By the way - does anyone know why Mayweather carries 3 WBC belts to the ring?

Hare is now 3rd.Barry Hearn and Tommy Gilmour are already talking about it and maybe looking into it.

They tend to use Jawaid Khaliq as a sounding board for Hare's opponents, so my guess would be Maxim Nesterenko.

Knowing Jawaid as well as I do, he told me that he thinks they're trying to set-up a match in the new year between him and James. I hope it happens, I think Jawaid wins that.

I thought Khaliq and Hare were mates and all, didn't think they would
ever want to fight each other, and aren't they both managed by Tommy Gilmour?

The British boxing scene is so bloody confusing, so hard to keep tabs on what the hell is going on half the time.

For what it's worth, I think Hare would win if they ever fought, he's a far more accomplished fighter technically.
