FORMER British super-featherweight champion Alex Arthur is headed for a disagreement with manager allegedly over where the Edinburgh fighter goes next.

The pair meet on Monday to discuss the fighter's future following Arthur's beating at the hands of Michael Gomez two weeks ago in Edinburgh.

In the immediate aftermath of the fight Warren criticised the boxer for relying too heavily on American trainer Freddie Roach, who chose to stay in the States rather than attend the fight.

But Arthur confirmed last night he has no intention of dropping Roach and plans to return to the States in January.

He said: "Frank isn't keen on Freddie but I want to work with him.

"Frank wants me to work with people in England but that's just not going to happen."

Well if thats the case then Arthur should base himself in America, maybe if he'd have shown more proffesionalism (i.e. stayed in America the whole period) Roach (or one of Roach's assistants) would have been prepared to travel for his fights.

But relaying phone messages is not good enough.

Arthur will never get over the beating he took from Gomez. You don't get beat like that and come back the same person.

His career is never going to scale dizzy heights.

I believe Roach said in an interview before the fight, when asked if he would be a permanent fixture in the corner, he said something along the lines of, well i don't know. We'll have to wait and see. I want to work with ALex but if it was going to be permanent i'd want him to base himself over here so i could work with him everyday.

Now thats shows Roach is willing, is Arthur?

Stu's post is bang on

Well I did find his reasons for leaving the Harrison camp baffling. It seems like he's not prepared to give a little.
