Does anyone have any info re: getting a six pack? How much cardio Vs sit ups each day do you have to do? Can't be arsed to read all the men's health articles on it.
Thinking of getting one... so top tips only please.

Depends how long it takes you to lose the weight, a six pack is 90% weight loss, if you get the weight off your abs will stick out without much work

coco is right, you could do 100's of sit ups/ab work exercises a day but if you have a layer of fat the muscles will not be visible. if you can get the weight off and do loads of ab work, including side abs, you will be like peter fukkin andre in that mysterious girl video!
cut out the booze and eat a varied diet...do cardio (at least 1 hour 3x a week) and ab work daily. Keep to a discplined regime and with 1 month you will notice a huge difference.
but as you get older it gets more diificullt to lose weight.

Agree with all of the above. For an example of what they mean have a look at James Toneys physique. His abs are immensly strong as he never ever appears to be hurt from a body shot, but yet you can't see his abs, because he eats to much and they are covered by fat...something I know only to well myself.

there is a saying that goes "defined abs are made in the kitchen not the gym"...saturated fats are a big no no...and at all costs avoid fizzy drinks as the gasses expand your stomach and give it that swollen look....stay away from frozen or microwave foods as quite frankly these foods are absolute crap and very unhealthy, fresh fish, chicken and red meats are low in saturated fats and high in protein. make sure you eat you're 5 fruit and/or veg a day and you will see a noticeable difference within 4 weeks...hope this helps good luck.

Its more effective to do 3 sets of 8-10 sit ups with a resistence then the 100's most boxers do every night.

Also if you go on most reputable porn sites there is a magic formula advertised that you can purchase that allows you to get the perfect six pack in.....about 2 weeks I think was the last one I saw. Could try that?
I'm 32, slim with a slight belly. I've given up on ever having one again, uni and beer finished mine off for good at about 18 I think..............Ian was lucky to make 24!

i'd have thought you'd be better playing a bit of sport or getting to a weights gym. a skinny 6 pack on a weak looking body is not the best look. a bit of sport will harden the core up and with a few extra exercises on the abs and obliques you'll get some healthy looking definition. hust my opinion though! :)

im not an expert on this mater in fact far from it but i always believed you where born with the ability to get a six pack, im not saying people are born with six packs but i thought 2 people could be the same weight, go on the exact same diet for a year and do the exact same cardio and same stomach exercises and they could have completely different bodies, 1 may be completely ripped and the other you may not be able to see his stomach muscles.
like i say i am no expert but that is what i was led to believe.

End of the day if you lose enough weight the 6 pack will show, some people lose the weight around their belly last and would look pretty gaunt by the time the six pack is showing, other people are lucky enough to lose the weight around their belly first

IF you drop your body fat to such a low level, your face gets wrinkled like a lemon.
Just check out some of the pro bodybuilders. Some of them look 15-20 years older that than their true age, because they juggle the body fat %.

You don't even need to do sit ups or ab exercises allthough they will help, but everybody has a six pack, it's more about reducing your body fat to between about 6 and 14 % or so. Cut your calorie and fat intake and you'll get it soon. I'm trying to reastablish mine (last seen 2002) Inthe last two months ive reduced my calorie intake to about 1500-1800 a day and 2000 on the days i work out and ive lost just over a stone, got about 2 stones to go

I agree. The most important thing is keeping your body fat low. I am about 6'2 165 with low body fat and I have a six pack, yet I don't do "major" ab work.
