whats Robs Irish connection Terry?TerribleTerry wrote:It will be good to see Frankie boxing for this title if it comes off - he can follow in the footsteps of Macklin and Moore as a multi belt champ incorporating the Irish title.
It's a shame Rob McCraken and the like never picked up the Irish title on their way through the pro ranks...

its not an issue, they simply sanction the fight but will probably have to have BUI sanction ref who is also the sole judge.Alba wrote:good read, how does this work ,if the sanctioning body is in another countryslapbangwhallop wrote:well nowts been signed yet but its going a good possibility.Alba wrote:

Which title is meaningless?Spud wrote:The title is meaningless - Frankie Gavin however is going to be one of the best fighters to come out of this country.
Stated it before and will state it again - I hope he stays with Arnie Farnell - seriously under-rated trainer in my view - ugly **** but dam good at what he does.
He did - here is a more complete listchiggsy wrote:I think tony sinnott won an irish title in liverpool.

Harry Cowap won it twice in London in the 80's at LHW,
Darren Sweeney won the SMW in Brum in 1997 and Terry Magee (brother of Eamonn) won the LMW also 1997.
Collins beat Storey in Boston in '88 for the middleweight title.
Tony Sinnott in Liverpool in 81 at welter, Malcolm Melvin LWW 93 in Brum, Jon Jo Irwin SFW in London in 93.

Good to see the BUI have a strict quality assurance policy in ensuring that the appearance of the belt remains the same! ;)Alba wrote:can you post me a picture of the title?dont think i could recall ever seing itslapbangwhallop wrote:He did - here is a more complete listchiggsy wrote:I think tony sinnott won an irish title in liverpool.
