Referee to Tex Cobb in between rounds vs champ Larry Holmes:
"Do you know where you are"
Cobb's response:
"In Madison Square Garden, getting the sh$% kicked out of me"

Lots of funny boxing quotes out there.
My trainer was a former pro also. He wasnt real talented though.
He was fighting I believe,Julius Noble and when he got hit by a right hand bomb he went down and fell awkwardly, breaking his leg.
It sounded and looked horrible.Clearly a bad injury.Everyone knew it.
Nothing funny about that, but the referees reaction and quote always struck me as morbidly humorous.
After Tony hit the deck, The ref walked over looked down at the carnage of a leg going three directions and said simply,"Son, Im afraid Im going to have to stop the fight."
Tonys reply,"Gee,really"?

Here is one that I thought was funny:
During the 2005 Wladimir Klitschko/Samuel Peter fight, George Foreman said something in between rounds 6 and 7 that I thought was funny.
Here it is:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qP84J6lkO48#t=6m20s (George says it at 6:24)
Can't for the life of me make out what he says?

Thanks, LOL. There was a similar exchange as Ike Quartey entered the ring for his fight with Oscar De La Hoya, with Foreman ruing the entourage's choice of drums. "Bad memories"

At a weigh in for one of my fights,a guy on the card had the first name Jesus.
The lady who took down some of the fighters info for the program or whatever was at her particular table calling out the boxers names out loud when she was ready for them.
She kept yelling out Jesus' name but she was pronouncing it as if his name was Jesus as in Jesus Christ.
Jesus! Jesus! come to the info table.
Finally, this kid caught on and sat down with her to give his info.
She asked him a bunch of questions and when she asked him where he was from he said "Heaven man, where else"?

Whatever you feel of Merchant, he was not afraid to speak his mind to
anyone...
Vernon Forrest: "Had a great training camp, y'know, & wanted to give a shout out & a thanks to my family, my team, my crew---"
Larry Merchant: "Would you like to thank the judges?"

Against Ike Quartey
Forrest got a gift, but only Larry went up & effectively told him as much.

I remember
The awkward pause from Grey in the face of Tyson's stoney conviction, despite how stupid his stament was. Then, Grey probes cautiously, as if afraid of an explosion. "I broke my back," Tyson inititally told him. He decided to elucidate when he sensed Grey's confusion. "My back is broken,"

I went and saw the Ricky Hatton v.s. Jose Luis Castillo fight in Vegas years ago. I ended up getting seats where all the mexican`s were sitting, and there were these two guys trashing Hatton. It was dumb crap for the most part but then one of them acted as if he had a mic and the other guy started acting like Hatton. They started doing this improv interview and the one guy starts off "So where are you from" other guy says "Scotland,Ireland mate! Cheers!".LOL! Then he started going on about guiness and tea and crumpets and other stuff and ending every answer with "Cheers!",sometimes that was his only answer. "How`s the wife and kids?"...."Cheers!". The thing that made me laugh the most though was when Hatton started beating Castillo up,these guys started going into gangsta mode and talking crap. When Hatton dropped Castillo with a left hook to the body this gangster dummy was throwing up westside. This British guy yells at him "West Londoooon! Sit down now ya fookin` prrick! LOL! Man that was a great day.

Jim Lampley: "Mayweather switches to southpaw for the second time tonight."
Mayweather from in the ring as he is fighting "THIRD time! THIRD time!"
Danny Williams entire corner vs. Vitali Klitschko. I can't think of his name, but the tiny black dude with the beard and the cheesy hat. After Williams gets knocked down in round 1 and goes back to the corner he screams in Danny's ear "Don't you quit on my Danny. Don't you quit on me!" He has other gems like "you are fighting for the heavyweight championship of the world"....no really? "Do it for your kids Danny. Make your children proud."
The most pathetic corner I have ever seen in a heavyweight title fight...with the exception of Tyson-Douglas.
Foreman-Morrison. Angelo Dundee starts to give Foreman advice between rounds and Foreman tells him to shut up. Dundee: "Alright baby. I'm here for you baby. Whatever you need. I am quiet. I am quiet."

Do you remember what FMJ fight that was?
Don't know for sure, but it is most likely the Bruseles fight. During that one, Mayweather eavesdropped (during the round) to chime in briefly on a discussion Lampley was having with his crew about some up-coming NFL match. After that, Lampley did something funny, but really unprofessional & improper --- he addressed Mayweather while the fight was still going, with Bruseles trying to effect an attack! "Hey, who do you like, Floyd?" was Lampley's question as he held the mic out toward the ropes.
"Falcons," Mayweather says. "I like Michael Vick"

Speaking of Mayweather I was watching the HBO highlights of his fight with Mosley and after that whole incident with Floyd hitting him on the break after Mosley was wrestling him they started jawing at each other. I can't make out much of what either says but I could read Floyd's lips and faintly hear him say "I'm sorry" between exclamations from the commentators before delivering another right hand.

Former fighter Vernon Sollas was working the corner of white bantamweight Dave Smith in Soweto, the all-black township in Johannesburg. Smith was doing well - too well - and the crowd were beginning to get restless. Smith went back to the corner and said to Sollas, "If I win this we're going to get lynched."
What do you mean we?" barked Sollas. "I'm the right colour."

Nate Miller's trainer between rds late in his title fight with Fabrice Tiozzo "Losin to a Frenchman, in yo own damn country"
In the Trevor Berbick vs ST Gordon fight, where Berbick looks like he's on sleeping pills. Between rounds
Cornerman. "Now Trevor, I know you can fight better than this"
Berbick. "But what can I do"
Cornerman. "Fight better than this"

Foreman had so many funny quotes hilarious quotes.
During Cotto vs Torres.
Lampley: says it only makes sense that if a fighter hits you low to go back and do the same.
Foreman: It only makes sense if you don't have a lot of dignity.
Lampley: Floyd Mayweather talks about pound for pound, right now the pound for pound list centers around Trinidad,Mosley and Roy Jones. Do you think Mayweather is on that level yet?
Foreman: Well right now theres a guy by the name of Page and until they beat him in that 147 class nobody's pound for pound.
Lampley: Ha, uhh.... Alright James Page
Lampley: Vargas' corner is holding up 5 fingers telling him to take all 5 minutes.
Foreman:(laughs) Can you imagine a woman now giving instructions.

Tommy Morrison-Ray Mercer
The ring doctor to Tommy Morrison as Tommy has his gloves up in front of his face and is trying to slip the docs punches.
"The fight is over Tommy. Put your hands down. The fight is over!"
