About time. Might be reading this wrongly but is there any intention here of going to the scorecards if the fight is stopped due to a cut caused by a punch? That wouldn't be so good.

Nah - I obviously didn't make that clear. I'm going to go and add a few bits, I think.

Quick one on this part of the rule?

- if the bout is allowed to continue and is later stopped because of the same injury, the injured boxer will win by Technical Decision, if he's ahead on the cards; if the injured boxer is behind or level on the cards it will be a technical draw

How did Amir Khan get the win against Barrera?

You had to read that bit in context with the bit above it in the article...this is when the cut was caused by an intentional foul and the contest is allowed to continue.

Barrera's cut was deemed as being caused accidentally therefore lo and behold it dragged out for a bit and it was stopped and went to the cards...

Got you so if its an intentional foul that causes the cut the best you can do is draw if it gets stopped because of it.But if its an accident either fighter can win on points.

Tend to remember When Honeyghan lost his title to Vaca there was something contravesial bout points taken off even tho it was an accident?

The confusion lies in "was it an accident/was it deliberate foul/was it causd by a punch."

Watch out for that becoming an issue in future bouts.

Khan was lucky that night, imagine if the ref had of decided it was worthy of a stoppage just a round earlier.

Thats probably why the ref decided it wasn't worthy to stop it a round earlier :TU:
