The above contest to be promoted by Promoter allegedly, will take place on Saturday, 23rd October 2010 at a venue as yet to be advised.

It's a crap fight.

Since being knocked out by Barker down at middle he's beaten Danny Butler by a point, who was also knocked out by Barker and tanked in Prizefighter.

Why not fight Anderson/Dilks, or rematch Quigley?

Even Patrick Mendy deserves a shot more than McDermott

I would have the fight but Paul said he doesn't want to fight anymore people from Liverpool so alrite fairenough but mcdermott hasn't done anything to derserve a shot at the weight it's a joke really is he isn't even ranked at the weight

mcdermott was a decent middle who should of quit after the barker loss. he was a big middle, i once saw him box ambler at 12st & he wasnt affective at all & looked soft.

I could understand paul not wanting to fight any more local battles if he had a euro title bout to train for or a top international bout but clearly he hasn't so why not fight another scouser?

Smith against mcdermott will do poor ticket sales unless the undercard is a cracker were as if carl dilks was the opponent it's almost certain to do at least 7 thousand plus even with an average undercard.

Very poor fight. Mc Dermott doesn't deserve a title shot.

A Calzaghe-esque move by Allegedly. Some middleweight no-hoper ranked outside the top 100 at his own weight class, brought up a division to fight Smith.

Sh*t fight for Paul. Total and utter waste of time this match-up.

I was expecting Stieglitz or Magee next, or someone of that calibre, after Groves was brushed off as being a 'backward' step.

I think this will be a decent enough fight, but Smith should have the measure of him.

A truly awful fight - for someone who has aspirations to fight for something above the British Title.

I'd bet DeGale is mandatory for the british title before Groves.... Also this match ain't official yet so I think everyone should reserve judgement, Not really fair to start giving people a going over when this might not even be true???
