World heavyweight champion David 'The Hayemaker' Haye will hold an autograph signing session on Saturday, 24th July at WHSmith in Selfridges on Oxford Street, in order to officially announce the widespread release of HAYEMAKER, the boxer's 192-page glossy sports publication and bookazine.

Haye will be on hand to meet and greet the public from 3.30pm, and copies of the summer issue of his bookazine will be available to buy on the day from WHSmith, who have secured an exclusive distribution deal forvolume one. The champion's bookazine is now available to purchase in over 400 WHSmith stores nationwide, and can be found in the bookazine section at a price of £9.99.

The first edition of HAYEMAKER includes bumper interviews with Manchester United centre-back Rio Ferdinand, England rugby fly-half Danny Cipriani, top British boxers Amir Khan, Carl Froch and George Groves, UFC superstar Georges St-Pierre, as well as Britain's fastest ever athlete Linford Christie.

The summer issue also includes behind-the-scenes pictures and accounts of Haye's boxing career to date, and is a must-have item for any fan of 'The Hayemaker', boxing or sport in general.

Speaking of the widespread release, Haye said: “I'm delighted to be able to get the bookazine out to the British public, as this is a project I'm extremely proud of and one I had a big hand in producing. We started out with the intention of making a magazine, but WHSmith felt the final product was far too in-depth and weighty for a magazine, so decided to stock it as a bookazine.

“I actually did many of the interviews myself, in between training sessions ahead of my last fight. This project, therefore, has an extremely personal touch, and turned out exactly the way I wanted it to.

“This is the only official publication available to buy that deals with my career and life, so it's a worthwhile read for any boxing fan. The interviews are exclusive and in-depth, and many of the articles that deal with my career cannot be found anywhere else, as they are very much behind-the-scenes accounts. This is the definitive read on my career so far.”

Champion Haye rose to the top of the heavyweight division last November, when he famously toppled 7-feet-2-inch 'Beast From The East' Nikolai Valuev to lift the WBA world heavyweight title. Haye then successfully defended the belt in April of this year with a ninth-round stoppage victory over number one contender John Ruiz. 'The Hayemaker' will make the second defence of his heavyweight championship later this year.

Anyone remember when warren hired that comical ali impersonator to take the piss out of audley at one of his press conferences and half way through it he charged through the door in his best pimp suit kicking off?

so they say ...

I'm fustrated with Haye. On one hand he pisses me off with his blatant money 1st attitude with the game nowadays. But also appreciate the wisdom of it. After all, a boxing career can be over within a blink of an eye. So he has every right to maximise his money. It may not be best for boxing - it is best for David Haye though.

He should be signing for a bloody fight, not a glossy mag that will last precisely ONE issue.

It doesn't even feel like he's a HW champ yet.
Let's be real, at HW, he was lucky enough to get a decision over one of the top 10 worst heavyweight champs in the history of the sport, by "outpointing" the other guy, in his own backyard, by landing a single decent punch - over 12 of the most boring rounds you'll ever see.....then, like everyone else over the last 20 years, he beats John Ruiz.

Enough with the chit chat, let's get in on!

Mr Payne I thought you were a higher class individual than that smelly smoggy **** editor we have at boxrec - in that I thought you wouldnt go into the dregs of banter by taking the p*ss out of the football teams I follow!!! - which incidentally Newcastle United have dropped to number 2 in the pecking order behind Bristol Rovers.

As for Newcastle Utd - there isnt really anything I can come back at you with other than there is no f*cking chance of us staying in the Premiership which is why I have switched my number 1 allegience to Bristol Rovers in the forelone hope of some rich billionaire taking them over and becoming the new Man City. :TU: :TU:

As for David Haye and the magazine - I am being serious think its bloody excellent and congrats to Elliott Worsell!!!! he has come a long way.

Hey - have you or anyone else read this new David Haye magazine - keep saying it - I think its top quality - big criticism though is the price!!!

Wrists - go into Smith's pal - have a read of it whilst you are there!!

As I have stated my criticism is the price - £9.99 - whilst I scrapped together the money mainly because of a picture of me in it - the magazine is top quality - I just fear "Joe Public" will put it back on the shelf because of the price and that will be a shame as its a top quality read.

The bookazine will 'die' on the shelves due to the price point and the self-indulgent nature of the product. I know how much it costs to get listings in Smiths and this, coupled with the high paper quality and production values, mean it will be a clear loss-maker for Hayemaker.
I'm a genuine fan of Haye and a 'hardcore' boxing fan yet even I couldn't even come remotely close to parting with the cash for this, so I'm struggling to see who actually would. You're going to be talking about copy sales in the hundreds rather than thousands I suspect.
Unlike you Spud I was disappointed by the product - it seemed to be just following Rio Ferdinand's template of having his own product and lacked a coherent vision or content flow. They've suffered through a DIY attitude rather than getting a professional publisher involved.
I presume that Team Haye view it as a marketing tool rather than a revenue generator, but if that's your goal then you have to have a price point that makes it accessible to the potential audience.

I buy virtually every boxing magazine, but the only way i would pay a tenner for this would be if i was at the signing on saturday.Which i wont be.

Sorry mate - not for a tenner.

Stick to BM at approx £4 quid which to be fair is the most i will pay for a mag and only cos BM is quality.

Haye needs to get his arse into gear soon though.

Audley
Adamek
Wlad
American
Vitali

Then good night
