One would like to see McEwan beating the likes of Perez by a wider margin.

Out of remote interest, how good is McEwan? Is he another Andy Lee or can he fight?

He is decent but it is clear to me at this point that he will never make it on the world stage. I think he and Lee have relatively equal capabilities. In my opinion, Rhodes, Barker, and Macklin are better fighters.

i think he should try and fight the winner of jacobs and pirog, he needs to be stepped up now, think he falls short at world level

He was over in edinburgh for the birth of his second child, took the fight at late notice, and was only back with his team and camp around 12 days before the fight, so no time for a camp/sparring nothing, not ideal prep for ur biggest test to date, so for him to come thourgh it in the manner he did suggests he has a hell of a lot more to give.

Given Perez's age and recent form, you could argue Vera was a bigger test

lee would have to much for mvewan , thats for sure , mcewan is nothing special imo , good fighter but not enough power or stand out skills

Apparently Freddy Roach thought Perez would win. A person who attended the fight posted in the CS and said it was a fair decision.

McEwan's trainer Roach -- who also trains Manny Pacquiao, the WBO welterweight champion and widely considered one of the best fighters in the world -- thought the decision would go Perez's way.

"I thought we lost," Roach said.

Well if you want to compare the two, the common opponent is a loss for lee and win for mcewan.

And if you want to compare the two now, one is getting talked as an opponent for felix sturm and one isnt even world ranked. And after i watched the perez fight i would put a lot off dosh down on lee knocking craig out cold if they meet. Lee puches alot harder than perez the welter who hasnt koed anyone since the ninties. :TU:

i think its fair to say that craig didnt havewthe best preparation as he took the fight at shortish notice ,and this reflected in his performance on the night .onwards and upwards for Craig now !

Craig has many attributes that i like, his footwork, high workrate and chin alone make him stand out. He paces himself very well and i like his relaxed style of fighting. His biggest weakness that i can see is his lack of concusive power, thats my major worry for him when he steps up to elite level.

He has been with Freddy Roach for a long time now so i'm figuring his punching power is as good now as its ever likely to get. Its a shame because with more concusive power i'm sure his wins over the likes of Boone and Perez would have been much more decisive.
