To me this is an embarrassing video and a very bad attitude. The chap just doesn't want to hear any criticism and I found the following comment hilarious and a shining example of his poor attitude
"I think I boxed mint for the first 6 rounds"

Jefferies Never said he think he boxed mint for the 6 rounds he says " Allow i NEVER boxed mint for 6 rounds" hard to understand them gordies
Obviously he's gutted with the draw but i think he comes along well and a bit embarrassed but WOW what a cock up with rounds!! whos fault is that ??
i think more boxers should do video blogs like this , great for us fans to know what they like as a person
i think he's team should of pulled him out if he's arm was that bad where he couldn't spar or punch too much on the line,
Keep your head up jaffa i'm sure you will come back - "what doesn't kill you makes you stronger"

"1% of d*******s who've come on and slagged us off, if you're going to slag us off you're not welcome."
Fair enough if people are being openly offensive but sounds like he isn't willing to criticism which doesn't sound good.

A worrying video for me.Tony seems to be taking himself far too seriously and seems over sensitive, especially for the online world he spends so much time in.The tone of the video, you would have thought someone had died and the nation was in mourning. He drew ffs.Its not the end of the world. If hes as good as he thnks he is,and he obviously has something, then he can put it right,at home,in about 7 weeks time.Back to the gym and physio not Twitter and Facebook.Hes got an excellent opportunity to sort this out.As many have said, loads of boxers have draws and losses on the way up,its how you bounce back that matters, and hardly any of those had the chance to avenge it straight away. His confidence seems shot to pieces.Compare to Big Larry who after losing to Peret got loads of stick and took it on the chin and came back better.Come on Tony, give your head a shake.

You know what people are like online, it's probably not very constructive.
True enough, one look at youtube comments is all the proof you need of that.

Maybe it's just me but I liked his video and thought he was pretty straight with it too. It's all very well criticising him for being on facebook, but we all watched the video didn't we ? thus we all use it too. For me, he did the video rather than write a long responce and it get misconstrued.
He's popular for the very reason that he doesn't take himself too seriously and will happily stick a quick video out there, with his heart on his sleeve.
People might say 'nobody has died' etc but this is the lad's career at the end of the day and is gutted he has a draw on his record due to the 6/8 round cock-up.

i liked it, a bit of honesty and integrity never did anyone any harm.... but..the key thing is, if you are not fit and cant train properly, then dont fight. its a dangerous game. a muscle tear does not heal in 3 weeks, he should not have been boxing one round let alone 6 or 8. who on earth is his fitness adviser?

One of those "i don't like making excuses but i'll give ya 5 anyways" videos!
The guy needs to be shaken up and head to the states and/or get himself a new team who can push him more as the corner didn't seem to shake him up between rounds when the going got tough. Padding his record here for a few fights after Friday night is the worst thing they can do because it would only be papering over the cracks.

If you're injured to the extent you cannot train your body to the required level of conditioning: pull out of the fight. Excuses after the event don't cut it. Hopefully Tony will have learned from this and, in future, if injured, will dig his heels in and not fight. The six/eight round fiasco is borderline comical. I know at whose door I would lay the blame; but they don't need telling from me.
Nice of him to let his fans no he seems a real sincere lad i for one wish him the bets of look.

If Jeffries wasn't so rubbish he wouldn't be getting so much criticism.
What does he want people to say when he performs like that?

I agree with Graeme, apart from the Pathetic bit. I like honest people, but there were too many excuses thrown in here after he struggled in a fight which he should have strolled through. If he was unfit, then he must have thought he could beat Banbula easily, which shows a lack of respect imo.
Don't forget, that after Jeffries was criticised a couple of fights ago (mostly constructive), he threw a fit and said he wouldn't be back to these forums. That should tell you something.
I want him to do well, but he needs to sort his attitude out first (once again, imo).

He seems a likeable guy and I can see what he was thinking with this but for me the best way to try and justify and explain away this performance is to address what went wrong and put it right where it counts, in the ring. Regardless of the validity of the excuses they still come across as just that, excuses.
The most overused expression in boxing today is "no excuses but...". There's always a danger that in looking to find excuses and assign blame the real lessons that disappointments afford us to learn remain as missed opportunities.

Yeah, but what pressure on him. In Sunderland, if he's off the bill the place is empty. Probably £50,000 worth of tickets down the drain.

I'd like to think he will. There's a lot riding on his shoulders so I can see him getting the best support in future.
I'm not sure if he's mentally weak, but I don't think he's strong in the head. As I said earlier, there was constructive criticism of the man a couple of months back which he took offence too and went off in a huff. The likes of Larry, Ashley Sexton and Smigga have all took criticism on these forums, and handled themselves well.

I agree with you. I think that when a person can't take constructive criticism, it's a very bad trait. Jeffries doesn't have the mentality to become a top fighter. Technically he is not going to make it either. He shows bad technique when throwing punches like the jab and right hand even. He has a lot of work to do, but due to his attitude, he won't take on board what needs to be taken on board.
He's not good enough anyway, but even if he was, his attitude would cause him to never become successful at the pro game.

I think the video is good for Tony more the anything. With the mix up of the rounds, his injury and poor performance it's only understandable for him to have his say.
It does show the pressure he must be feeling to perform each and every time and I think this is causing a detrimental effect on his mind set and ultimately performance.
Sad to say, but I think Tony would be one of those fighters who would have benefited more from a loss and come back stronger then that draw? Release some of that pressure of being Sunderland's golden boy and realise he is only human?
Anyway, gotta get this fight out of his head and move one, he can do better but I think several things got the better of him that night.

Bottom line... Nice Bloke, Good amateur record! But just has not got what it takes to go all the way. European level at best.. Another thing! He should not fight at light-heavy... super middleweight would suit him more.
