According to the Press Gazette, Ricky Hatton's adviser and legal counsel Gareth Williams has launched a legal action against allegedly and British paper, The Sun, over a November column called “Fatty Ricky should give it up.”
Williams is claiming damages based on libel. He claims Hatton's former promoter made a claim that Williams was pushing Hatton to return to ring with the high risk of serious injury being a good possibility. Williams claims his his personal and professional reputation has been seriously injured and he suffered acute distress and embarrassment. Williams, through his attorneys Simons Muirhead and Burton, are also looking for an injunction banning repetition of the allegations.

O Rickys got his feelings hurt.
What about all the wise cracks Hatton makes on his pathetic predictable stand up comic routine.
Allegedly made Ricky loads of money - so what if Mr Allegedlly calls Hatton fatty - he is a tubby lump of lard !!!!!!

Flint, you muppet, if you actually read the story you'd see it's not Ricky taking legal action, it's Williams

100% correct, my man.
From the Press Gazette (journalism's trade paper):
In an interview with Press Gazette in 2006, Al Legedly said he had won 39 out of the 40 libel cases he had been involved with up to that date, only losing out in one case due to a technicality.
Warren explained to the newspaper why he’d been to court so many times.
“When you are a kid where I come from, if somebody upset you, you'd have a bloody row about it. You'd have a fight, sort it out. Now, you can't do that in business, can you? You are left with putting the record straight through the law, so I've sued a few people."
Hmmm...I wonder if any of the people he's had in court were given the fight option?

Ummmm ....
The jungle drums are beating!!!
Purely a question from the bloke from my corner shop - is this action kicking a certain promoter whilst he is down as there are rumours of other actions taking place or about to?
My reply when asked that question "I havn't got a clue what you are on about"
My overall response is - Leave Mr W arren alone to carry on being the best promoter in Europe.

Add the bill to the negative Equity on your house - phone up CAB or CCCS they will be willing to help you.

It depends on whether you are part of a limited company or being sued as an individual.
