I know a few who are better in the ring than out of it and a few who were no great shakes with a ref and judges but are absolute nightmares without. Riot squad mental

The best with a ref and globes aren't necessarily yhe best on.the street and vice versa.

Met a cousin of Henry Wharton at the MEN once - he told me a story about Wharton fighting on the cobbles. I bet he was a fornicating menace

if a good boxer can punch or is very durable they allway's win in a tear up.

Saw a Prizefighter finalist handle himself very competently outside the ring in a club over in Bromborugh....... He KO'd a couple of lads with single shots as a brawl kicked off!!!! I'd say his punch power looked better out the ring than in it!!! DD

If he ever got into a row I swear he was NEVER the one to start it but where he was big and had this reputation people wanted to try it on... OB used to literally sit there and wait till he had finished with the bloke before they went near it because he was an absolute terror. One bloke had a mate with him who tried to join in when his mate was taking a pasting... he threw him out the window of this boozer almost as a reflex - no thought in it he just lobbed the geezer into the road and then carried on punching the other bloke into the floor. Moved to France in the end which was weird because as far as I knew he'd never left the county before let alone the country.

Eamonn Magee strikes me as someone who would be a handfull outside of the ring.

Yes and i was on the wrong end of it, after a few too many largers, i said to a friend of mine who fought in the amatures "lets go at it then just body shots" long story short i couldn't get out of bed for two days. My mum went fornicating nuts at him

Ive heard a few stories about him getting filled in of guys in sheffield, but i think that is complete BS unless he refrains from hitting back, with his power he could spark 18 stone doorman for giggles.
