Thanks mate. I had not watched this one.

Yeah,the tape is messed up some ,but the confusion began at the beginning of the 10th round,when they stopped the clock
to clear all the ice all over in Norton's corner that his handlers put down his trunks before the 10th round started.
Also I didnt hear any bell to end the 10th round.

This was a great battle. Norton had great brawls late in his career as his aging legs forced him to stand toe to toe more. I think a draw decision was more than fair, I had Ken winning rounds 1-7 and Scott 8,9 and 10 with the two KDs . . too bad LeDoux's people foolishly jumped into the ring ending the round early, to me it was clear the ref was administering a standing 8 count and not stopping the fight, Scott could have maybe scored a true TKO in the final seconds but his handlers screwed it for him.

Dr.Ferdie Perchenko states Norton was thumbed in the eye,but in his autobiography GOING THE DISTANCE.
Norton mentions no thumb in the eye,but says a LaDoux punch popped his ear drum.
Thats what it looks like Norton is reacting to going back to his corner after the eigth round.

Today is the 31st anniversary of the Norton-LaDoux bout.
I remember watching it live on NBC SPORTSWORLD with my Dad,on a Sunday afternoon.
Thats back in the days when you could still see terrific fights on free television.

Those were the days.
There were even a couple friday night cards on network tv of great quality back then also.

Either Ken Norton had the presence of mind to fall on the ropes or was lucky they were there.
I dont think he would have had enough strength to have got off the canvas.
