Not a hope he'll be fighting in the next 6 months. If there was a huge fight to be made, then maybe it could be a possibility that Joe could be persuaded by the money. However, who is there for him to fight? Hopkins again? Not exactly a fight I want to see again. Plus, Joe won't want to risk coming in a shadow of his former self and losing his undefeated record.

I reckon the odds are pretty long mate. Because he says that he has lost that hunger that made him a World Champion for over a decade, and when you lose your hunger there is no point in doing what you do any more when you have not got that hunger any more. However the money could always tempt him back.

As good as Hopkins is, do you think he could generate the cash for whatever Calzaghe's price is?
Hmm, I am not sure about that one at all mate. I do expect Hopkins and GBP do another other that will give Calazghe something to chew over to see if he actually does want to return or not, but I think Calzaghe will still say no because he will not give Bernard Hopkins due to his reaction with Calzaghe beat him at the Thomas and Mack Centre, and perhaps maybe Hopkins might call it quits at 45 as I feel he has nothing to prove anymore as he has been a great Champion and I feel he should concentrate on his work at GBP and punditry on ESPN from what I have seen of is pretty good.

Not that there is anybody out there that could generate him 10 mil. But if there was, would anybody begrudge him a decent payday, even if it ruined his legacy a bit? You can't put a price on a legacy, but a legacy don't pay the bills. (especially with the price of coke these days
)

I spoke to a welsh friend last month who told me Gavin Reece was gonna be fighting soon for the British title at lightweight and that Joe was comeing back so after yesterdays anouncement about Gavin And Murray a Calzaghe comeback could be worth a bet?

Personally i,d hate to see him return but would love to see Reece at lightweight.

All this Welsh rumor talk is nonsense. I know a Welsh based racehorse trainer who is known to Calzaghe. Joe was looking at getting some horses to trained by him. Don't think it ever materialised, but what I can say is Joe didn't rule out a comeback entirely. Said is it unlikely though.
What he says in the press is consistant with what he says in private. Enzo's opened the gym back up, so maybe the itch will return.
If Calzaghe was coming back why would he keep it a secret?

BTW Rees never retired, he just suffered from Calzaghe and Warren battling.

No it wasnt boxrec it was a boxing coach and it was said way before that artical was wrote,

If Calzaghe was coming back why would he keep it a secret?
I reckon that they have reopened the gym as they want to go back into promoting as I seem to remember Calzaghe was promoting a few shows in Wales but not really making any money on these shows if my memory serves me correctly. As for the racehorses why not he needs something to keep occupied and makes him a few extra quid
