On reflection I am changing my vote. Now that the season is definately over we have to go by what happened. As much as I didn't want to admit it Marquez was outstanding.

I'm still bitter that Kilbane didn't get his chance to though

I voted no as we only completed a 20 week fight season.

I have to say a resounding NO.

Raf Marquez's record was impressive, I will give you that.

But the Hall of Fame has to maintain a certain calibre, and I would not say that Marquez has done as much as what Fox, Spinks or even Moore.

And firstly, his achievements:
x2 time IBF Champion (Original IBF Champ)
x1 time Ring Magazine Champion (Original Ring Champ)
Greatest win ratio: 90% 18 wins out of 20 fights
Keeps IBF title as he is the last Champ.

I don't think they warrant a Hall Of Fame entry... Because basically he's just a 2 time IBF Champion.

Secondly, Marquez was never the undisputed number one...
Guys like Arguello (and later Pep) challenged him for that accolade.

And I honestly don't hink a fighter should be put into the HOF if he wasn't the clear number one.

What message will we be sending out if we include Raf into the Hall of Fame?

1. It's okay to fight CPU fighters, when top contenders have called you out.

2. It's okay REFUSING to enter a unification fight.

3. It's perfectly acceptable to invent titles whenever you want and rate them more highly than the 4 bodies (WBC, WBA, WBO, IBF).

4. Having a high win ratio is everything! Even if you fight bums.

Think about it guys, Maruqez into the Hall Of Fame is a bad idea.

There's a post whoring thread in OS etc. if you want to bump your post count, crease. Elsewhere, just put it all in one post, rather than 4 consecutive ones.

MatthewS......gave up mid season due to a mid life crises.
Tzyu has had both finished and unfinished seasons. Though he is fast becoming the Lance Armstrong of Sim Commissioning.

Hit the books, become less "self centered" be a team player and do not allow your fleeting sim fame to go to your head. Keep in mind that your last season was very very lackluster. Best to work on technique and strategy, and stay clear of the grown ups table when items of simulated consequence are being discussed.
