Boxers purses

I know there have been a few threads on here relating to purses, but there isn't an average for fights, and with a few pro's on here, wondered if you'd be able to help a little....
How much would you get for

4x3
6x2
6x3
8x3
10x3
Area title challenge/defence
English title challenge/defence
British title challenege/defence
Commonwealth title challene/defence
European title challenge/ deence

For the 'less rounds bouts' could you include prices for at home (considering you sell a few tickets) and for taking bouts late notice, on another lads show. Also television bouts, boxing the BIG promoters prospects etc. ALos, after you have been paid (whatever amount) how much would you actually walk away with.

I know I'm asking fr alot of info, but any help is appreciated :TU:

Purses depend on who you are fighting, tv interest, bums on seats etc It is up to the fighters to generate interest and ultimately the cash.
This is why Tyson earned 10's of millions for non title 10 rounders

coco is right there are no set fees normally the more bums you can put on seats the more money you can ask for because your bringing revenue in for the promoter if your not willing to get out there and sell tickets your gunna get paid crap money unless you have a big promoter behind you who is willing to lose money on your fights in the early part of your career to build you up which is a very small percentage of boxers my advice is if your looking to earn good money in your life boxing is not the sport for you not many fighters earn enough money to be able to retire to the countryside

Very true, I'd say less than 5% of boxers retire to a better life!!

Hard game this is and if you don't believe you can get very far then I wouldn't even bother lacing them on unless you do it for the love of it which is very hard to believe cos getting hit in the face just ain't nice, Add to that dieting for 8 weeks plus sparring, running and everything else!! This is without doubt the HARDEST game in the world bar none!!

I think anything you do in life career wise should be motivated by a passion for it rather than how much you can make doing it.Also if you're very passionate about your job you're likely to work harder and thus have more success and money anyway!

With regards to the question, I think we'd better ask H.O.B.B. He knows everything about boxing, boxers and all things fighter related

hobb can guarantee :!:

i liked what jamie moore said when said he has loved being a boxer & were most of his mates have had to go work & slog it out doing jobs they dont like, he's been a fulltime pro & has been able to support his family doing what he loves :TU:

i remember nigel benn saying a b reg bmw & a 3bed semi with next to no mortgage is what he wanted, boy he supassed it :DD
i seriously think's it help's & grounds a boxer if they have worked or earnt outside of boxing (legally) :DDD

aslong as you've got a good woman behind you or geezer in h.o.b.b's case, you'll do good. boxers need stabability as it's a long tunnel were you dont see light till the very end in most cases.

I think Froch and Robin Reid shared 100k for their British fight, that said, it was really interesting at the time.

I remember it being some sort of record.

obviously the top top lads earn different i was only at the bottom level but i would say you would get around

6x2 4x3 £600 to £1500 the lowest i got was £500 the highest was £2500

6x3 8x3 £1200- £6000 i have known boxers get £1000-£5000

area title £1000-£4000 i have known boxers who have eaned both amounts

english= i dont know anyone who has fought for one but i would say £3000-£7000

commonwealth £4000-£10,000 i have known a title holder who in a title defence facing a british title holder only came out with £4000

british= £6000-£25,000 the big boys would get around the top fee sometimes i think and im sure i read magee? got something like the top end aswell. but i would have thought the flyweights e.t.c would get around the bottom figure

european=12,000-25,000

like i said these are mainly just estimates and the real top lads will obviously be on more and the televised shows normally get more aswell but remember this is before managers/trainers fees e.t.c are taken out so even if your say a british title flyweight holder who has 4 fights in a yr. you could probably earn more as a tradesman
Nice one Billy, it seems everyone dries up and shuts up when people ask what they are earning, nice to see someone being honest!

i guess it depends on allot of things such as who the fighters are and the magnitude of the fight.

Barker is getting £75k for the Macklin defence but thats more down to it being such a big fight than anything else. I would be suprised if he got more than 30k for his British and Commonwealth fights.

Barker is getting £75k because FW won the purse bids and Barker is champion - Not because it is such a big fight,
If Barker isn't getting more than £30k for his British and Commonwealth title defences then that's down to his promoter

Surley the fact its such a big fight is why FW made such a high bid for a European/British title fight???

£75k for EBU champion is hardly a record breaking amount. Added to the fact that it is British, Commonwealth AND EBU makes it even more realistic.

£75k for Barker £50k for Macklin is very high for a European title in recent years. £125k all together.

I would be shocked if it was less than Audley, Enzo, Cleverly, Magee, Rhodes, Hatton, Murray, Foster & McDonnell are getting for there european title fights.

Its more than Burns is getting for his WBO fight. Purse bids for that were $65,000 which is £45k. Its more than Bika, Mendy, Guererro, Casamyaor, Linares, Juarez and Pirog got in there recent fights on the Marquez undercard. None of them got more than £50,000

Barker vacated the comm. Murray has it now.

ddint Magee and Mads Larsen split a silly amount, much more than that, for the Euro belt?

true. They got about £120,000 each. Still thats extremly high....barker vs macklin is also high.

Larsen and Magee did split that amount, allthough Larsen hasn't been paid by the promotor yet
