i never saw this fight, having never heard of munroe at the time. who'd have thought he'd go from losing a dometic title fight, to winning domestic and european titles, and two world title elims, to boot.

was it a good fight? was it very close? is it worth getting?

was it munroe's inexperience, or was fighting a featherweight an issue for the leicester southpaw (now a big, strong super bantam)?

Unanimous Decision tells the story in my mind. But all great fighters come back from defeat, Really hope he wins the world title fight in October.

As I remember it the fight was a pretty competitive affair, it seemed a bit early for Munroe and the weight difference definately told. Munroe performed very well in my mind but think I had Morris by about 3 rounds, Morris was hot at the time and I kind of think it pushed Rendall to the next level and probably proves the theory that you sometimes can learn more about yourself and the game whilst suffering a defeat.

From ringside, I thought it was desperately close. Munroe threw a ton of shots - round after round - but Morris picked the cleaner ones. I think the fight took a lot out of Morris.

First and foremost Andy Morris is an excellent boxer he just lacks the power to put men away when needed. Growing up on the same estate I've followed his career very close and other then the John Simpson knock down I have never seen the lad look out of a fight.
