Just see this on his twitter page,said they split on good terms&will be making a big annoucement within a week

any ideas who he would go with??

he should go back with joe g but i think it will be someone abroad

I wonder if hes trying to shift the blame over to Rimmer coz of his bad performances...

He drew his last fight because he thought it was a 6 round fight instead of an 8 round fight. Who's fault is that the fighter or the trainer?

He drew his last fight for many other reasons in addition to not knowing the duration of the contest.

Agreed, he drew becasue he had such poor stamina for a start. Personally I thought he shaded the fight, but it may be for the best in the long run that he drew. Hopefully it will be a wake up call for him. He needs to remind himself of the fact he's got a good jab and remember to throw it. Don't know who his new trainer will be but a move away from the North East and his comfort zone could be a good idea. His progress hasn't been as good as the other olympians so a fresh start could be a good move. The guy has talent, he just needs to buckle down and fight regularly

Yep I don't like this blame game which seems to be surrounding Jeffries, he needs a trainer who will discipline and motivate him without mollycoddling him which I think he might have been getting off Rimmer - the old 'fighter bigger than the trainer' scenario which I don't think is right.

neither. it's the promoter's job.

there are many decent pro's on here who wont comment as they no criticising is hurtfull. but to say you cant do 2 extra round's as a FULLTIME pro is ridiculous. fighters get told they are fighting last & last minute told to glove up with no warm up, or change of opponent & have the option of giving some weight away or to refuse the fight.it's a very tough buisness & you cant be bubble wrapped & modicoddled.
& getting rid of rimmer tells me he aint learnt nothing, does he think it's trainer's that get you too the top??

I have slated him in the past for unnecessary changes - but on this occasion I think its right - as long as the new trainer has the job of telling what Jaffa does and not the other way round.

I want to see Jaffa succeed but its a definate back to basics campaign and a change of trainer to the sort "of no nonsense and no bullsh*t" type of bloke who will put Jaffa in his place when its needed.

Neil Fannon or a trainer from the North East would be a good idea in my view.

Not really a shock to be honest.. I think Jaffa will come good though in all honesty, Top sparring is essential though.

If he plans on staying in the UK then I think Joe G is the right man although sparring might be an issue. Then there's Rob Mccracken I think that would be a good move but don't know how he would get on with Rob's GB commitments and the Mick Hennessey link seeing as Jaffa's promoted by Maloney.

I think part of the problem is he's not knuckled down like the other Olympians maybe he should have gone with Frank afterall. One things for sure what happened in his last fight would never of happened on a Warren bill.
He's living a bit of a celebrity life at the moment and must be on a pretty good wage but he's got to make up his mind whether he really want it or not. At the moment I wouldnt even put him in the top 20 light heavies.

Yeh I agree. I get the feeling he's not been living the life between fights. Out of the post Olympic lads he's the only one not really to settle. It must be tough going from the team atmosphere of boxing for GB to the pro's thats why finding the right gym with the right team is essential. Frankie looks like he's having a blast with Arnie and the lads in the gym, same with Degale and Jim McDonnell, Billy Joe and Jimmy Tibbs, etc. He's got loads of potential with a huge fan base everything's there for him to become a top fighter.

Funny when He turned Pro, I thought Him and that Kid from Birmingham, were the 2 that would make it.

Seems like a sound lad Tony Jeffries. He always seems to have time for his fans, not just the hardcore who turn up for the fights but also the fans who support him on various websites. He seems like a really likeable fella and one who you'd just hope could really do something at a very high level.

Agreed. When I saw him as an amateur he had a really decent jab and that's what took him places. Since joining the pro's he just seems to me like he's loading up too much on the power punches and neglecting his jab altogether. I hope he reminds himself that he's got boxing skills and isn't just a George Foreman clone, powering his way to every win.

I think he won't go beyond British level and won't even reach the pinnacle of that level. He may pick up a WBU title or something.
