Thanks Anton.

I'm pumped for this card. Ahtong v Olarte could be the smokey for fight of the night.

Great to see Meehan in action. Brunker stepping up and I think this will be my first look at Forsyth.

It might only be for a round mate, I just realized that Forsyth has 6 first round KO's out of 8 fights.

Can't wait for Meehan. ;;-)

and I see Thomas has been stopped 8 times and only has one win in his last 10 fights

I still applaud Grange for getting him an International opponent, but i don't think it's going to last long, ol mate Thomas has 14 inside the distance from his 17 wins. should be good while it lasts.

The Dibster versus Labarda bout won't last long as the Argie has a well padded record against lesser opposition, mainly 4 and 6 rounders. The only time Labarda left his home country was to Canada 2 years ago and was TKO'd in 10. He has fought little since then and is ranked 216 in the world as a feather.

There will be a chorus after this fight of "time to step up Billy"! This same chorus will get much louder after the Dibster's next epic on the Boxa card on the 15th September, where he touches gloves with an opponent Jack Asis (with a better ranking than Labarda), who on his last 2 visits downunder failed to defeat both Willie Kickett and Ryan Langham. Now both Willie and Ryan would have provided better opposition than Jack who will get his Asis kicked.

It would be nice if Dib could just win his fight without any conteversy. He has talent but should have been DQd a few times in his career... IMO.

Only loss in 20 fights an IBF title fight makes him nobody? Little harsh.

What was the story was Quinn? Was he here for a fight or a dance?

I hope so, i just hope that Brunker has a few more fights before hand, the kid pretty much fights once a month, and would be good to see him take a few stepping stones in his next 3 fights, that was his best opponent so far and it was a pretty polished performance.

No, it's his lack of wins against any decent opponent. He has only defeated four opponents with winning records and three of those guys had 5 fights or fewer (1-0-1, 2-1-1, 5-0).

Can someone tell me how the Meehan fight went. I'm guessing by Brute's negativity that it wasn't too good.

Meehan UD. Quinn did a lot of showboating, running around the ring and dancing with the ring girls between rounds but not much boxing.

As for Labarda, I took into account that he was beaten by Steve Molitor, one of the best super bantamweights around in ten rounds. For the record, Dib cleaned him up in six rounds. Billy looked stronger than I have seen him before.

Brunkers win was easily the highlight of the night, great step up and great performance. Now he just has to keeo upping it.

I'm pretty sure Quinn "fought" his way out of any future fights down under.

Dib once again hits a downed opponent...

I wasn't going to say anything but on that one showing I don't see what all the fuss is about with Forsyth. Thomas handled him pretty well in the first two rounds until he seemed to get tired or disinterested. Of course Forsyth probably had something to do with that. But I didn't really see any "X Factor" from Forsyth last night...

Mate that was Forsyth's hardest opponent thus far and couldn't agree more them first 2 rounds were the Americans, Forsth was even stunned in the first minute. He can't blow everyone out in the first round.

Meehan sure knows how to pick 'em. :-?

At least Kali got some ring time against opposition who just wants to see a completed 12 rounder on his record.

Quinn's showboating for the first 2 to 3 rounds was acceptable but after that it became boring, unamusing and robbed the fight as a spectacle. Promoters and paying customers wont waste their hard-earned in future on a dud whose fighting style resembled a certain countries WW2 tank that had 7 reverse gears and 1 forward gear (incase of rear attack).

Billy Treacy was the promoter. Meehan just fights the blokes he is matched with.

I see what you mean about do what you have too , because he had hurt his opponent then he sits back and admires his handy work rather than get the job done. It was very boring for boxing fans.
