Does anyone know if any fights are being put on to replace Macklin/Barker and Rhodes?

Macklin will fight Shalva Jomardashvili for the vacant European middleweight title, while Konecny is now fighting Matthew Hall.

Hall-Kocency does look like a good fight on paper. Macklin-Jomardashvili not so much.

Are Macklin or Broadhurst villa fans? Because I've heard whispers that plans are in place for it all to kick off between the villa and blues fans (there for Gavin) at some point during the evening.

macklin's definitely a bluenose, yeah.

between the brummies, the welsh, the mancs there for Hall etc etc, my guess is it will be kicking off all over the shop.

not sure who Broadhurst supports but he's an Erdington lad originally so Villa would be more than likely. i'd say Villa want to be careful i think they will be well-outnumbered on the 18th

If the kids wanna fight, you'd better let 'em...

but can they not do it elsewhere?

Surely the whole point of bills like the magnificent 7 is that people are going to come to watch a good evenings boxing?

Totally agree fella. I am a Manc and will be there to watch the best of British. My fav fighter is Matthew Macklin. It doesn't matter where you are from or which team you support, this night is about British boxing and nothing else. I cannot remember such a strong line up in my time. I will want to watch all the fights on the bill which is unusual.

I dont see Broadhurst fighting to be honest, still no opponent announced for him.

Good to see Macklin will still get some action and get the European title back, while Hall v the Czech guy is gonna be a really good fight and hopefully Hall wins the belt and faces Rhodes in what will be another solid domestic fight.

I'm sure an opponent is find-able, and he could do with an outing. So I can see him being on the bill, although possibly not in a title fight.

Not the greatest fight, but a chance for Don to get confidence back at least.

Don is fighting - he dropped some tickets down to my mate's gym yesterday.

Just as well barker not fighting with his Chelsea firm supporters who sung racists dongs all at his last fight!

My tickets came from Don too. Hope he's fighting on that card as he is local and we have mutual friends. I would of loved to to see him and Haskins do it again to be honest, as I believe the real Don didn't turn up that night, and Don at home in a big fight would of been a great addition to this card.

This night is a footy hooligans dream with the many firms that may be present. Bolton are at Villa that day too, will Khans lot be about? Thing about the LG Arena is it is a long long walk though that deserted tunnel to the train station. It is not like people disperse into different directions upon leaving the arena, diluting the troublemakers. 90% will use that narrow walkway and train station. The old bill need to sort this one out as it has the potential to go off bigtime.

End of the day, the boxers on the card know the boys going. It is the boxers who will lose out, and never get the chance to box at home again if this kicks off. How long has it been since Warren held a big one here since the last big kick off? Easily a boxers lifetime if I am right?

Fella, your talking this up to much...Don and Frankie both boxed at the NIA without a sniff of trouble, and whoever Khan's lot are, they certainly won't be watching Bolton at Villa!
