Fury's opponent has had more changes than dropouts in a Warren show! That is saying something. :o

It went from a dodgy Brazilian to a really good journeyman to a poor journeyman and now to some guy I've never heard of (Rich Power).

I love the name though. Rich Power vs Tyson Fury. It sounds much better than the match up itself.

Rich Power is a dangerous fight, still undefeated although not fought anyone too good. A big puncher as well, so cannot be take him too lightly.

Have you seen him fight? If not, I don't know how you can call it a "dangerous fight". Hennessey will be well schooled on whoever the opponent is, and won't choose anyone dangerous.

I have been keeping my eye on this fella for about a year now cos I liked his name. Seen a few clips of him fighting and doesn't look too bad, although he has not fought anyone of Fury's calibre. Think Fury will win though.

He should fight 'Max Power' which was the name Homer Simpson changed his to when he was looking for an upturn in fortunes.

He did lose to Drederick Tatum though

Never heard of this guy before. It seems he has beaten nothing but bums. I guess we couldn't really expect anyone decent on ten days notice. It is disapointing the Gavern fight fell through; that would have been a very good test for Fury.

Saw Power the other week on one of those obscure channels that shows occasional boxing. Couldn't tell if he was any use, but the opponent was terrible - Chuck Gardneresque.

I would say Tyson wins quick. This is about showcasing him in America so someone who isn't great, but looks a threat on paper is ideal

shocking record 12-0 but it dsnt even get him US top 100. David Martin is about 50 places higher at 3-0

theres some footage of him training on youtube...and he dsnt look particularly fit altho he isnt fat.

I saw his 3rd and 4th pro fights on TV. Was very green even considering it was early in his career. No way he's improved enough to make this competitive, Id bet the farm if I had one on Fury

Is anyone aware of what UK channel this might end up on ? Hennessy's site keeps saying "UK broadcaster to be confirmed" which at least gives me hope that it might end up on telly, but its getting close to the wire now.

White heavyweight hope Tyson Fury now faces American Rich Power over eight rounds on Friday night at York Hall, after a hatful of opponents dropped out of a confrontation with the unbeaten Manchester giant.
Fury, all 6ft 7ins of him, all 270 pounds of him, went to 11-0 (9) with a solid nine-round stoppage of Horndon’s John McDermott last time out in June, but an insight into his psyche was provided on facebook before the fight. Trainerless, after dumping Brian Hughes MBE, Fury talked of pulling out of the fight, of his overeating, of his fears. As Ray Leonard said about Marvin Hagler in the first round of their memorable 1987 12-rounder: "He was scared too."
Fury is now trained by a family member.
Power brings an unbeaten record himself at 12-0 (9) but ranks as one of those "microwave" fighters as US trainer Nazim Richardson put it quite memorably. "You pop them in and out comes a glamorous record." The 30-year-old Power, from Michigan, was boxing at four-round level earlier this year and only stepped up to six-rounders last time out in July when he stopped Michael Moncrief in the first round. Fury is not a good opponent to be facing in your first eight-rounder, a strong, talented opponent with a long, hard fight behind him.
Don’t get me wrong, Power brings ambition and a decent clout, but his lack of experience will tell after three rounds, when Fury takes over.
