Has this been announced and I've missed it? Please don't tell me it's PrimeTime?

Can't ITV sort it out?

Could have sworn that Sky were doing it, probably ppv. I'm sure I read how they had beaten Primetime to the fight. Maybe I dreamt it, or was drunk.

Think Sky wanted it at 11pm but Showtime insisted on 10pm - ridiculous really. So Sky pulled out and looks like its destined for primetime.

Showtime aren't showing the fight live, so that's a load of tosh. Unless you meant the german broadcasters, obviously. :OhYes:

But even so, I couldn't see sky not showing the fight because of that. They have re-jigged this weeks SFN to have the Wlad v Peter fight at 10, so no reason they couldn't have done that on October 2nd.

Surely it still can be arranged?

boxrec schedule lists it as being on primetime...it's not gonna be for the WBC belt either, just a final eliminator.

Sky dont pay feck all.

I know of an imminent show they paid 90k for and a previous ´big show´they paid nothing for.

FACT.

I have completely boycotted primetime - the coverage is rubbish, you have to pay a connection fee and then pay for the fights. All the fights that are on it are only worthy of sky sports (not the ppv). Im not getting skanked to watch people like tyson fury on ppv. If it was £2.99 a fight with no connection / subscription fee it would do far better.

Primetime better than nothing. How come he can't froch on sky?

Froch and his promoter want ppv money or at least better money than normal sky sports offer but Froch isnt a big enough name for sky PPV.

What Froch fails to realise is that without people watching him on free to air or normal subscription sky sports, to build up his fanbase - he will never become a marquee name.

But he is a long way past that stage of his career. He boxed on BBC,ITV and SKY earlier in his career. These Super Six fights should be his "pension" fights on SBO.He has suffered from poor promotion and rubbing a lot of people up the wrong way.Its fair to say,he is destined to never become a marquee name

Is hennessy to blame for this or tv companies?

if froch had defended his world title on british tv he would have become a big name, instead he came back to Britain and fought on showtime that most people dont know exists and the other people wont pay for - im not even sure who even buys these fights in the UK.

Hennessy is a shockingly bad promoter - he's done the same with Fury - waits for fans to start showing an interest in a fighter then shifts them to bloody primetime to dwindle into insignificance. No one is going to pay to watch fury its just stupid.

Be interesting to see the board news to see if Hennessy wins any bids.

I'm getting a bit mixed up here. Froch is on Prime Time right? The PPV channel that does the Super 6, a bit of MMA and nothing else.

Fury is due to be on Premier TV (subject of a recent HS press release and the channel that is showing Frampton and Mosley) - is this a new name for Primetime or is it a completely new channel? It seems bizarre to say the least that Hennessey has got deals with 2 different start up PPV companies for 2 of his fighters.

Froch won his title in a FOTY against Pascal on ITV live.A rerun of his last gasp stoppage was shown on ITV,twice.ITV then showed a rerun of Direll. To access Primetime you needed Sky,with a phoneline connected and had to pay a connection fee for the first time you watched pushing the cost up to nearly £20.It had me scratching my head and getting severely pissed off and im a hardcore fan.how many casual fans this cost Froch, who knows?People are used to pressing one button on the Sky remote and thats it.Imagine how many come home from the pub and just impulse buy from SBO.This was virtually impossible with Primetime, even to those who knew it existed.Primetime was also unavailable on the Virgin platform, ruling out millions more.Carl has earned well soley down to Showtime.MH has had an exciting WBC champion in a groundbreaking tournament and seriously let him down.Oh,and if you did buy the excellent Kessler fight, you were paying almost literally for that fight,i have never known an undercard like it,with the possible exception of the Primetime Direll fight, and they looked like they had spent about £20 on production with Darren Barker refusing to commit because he has sparred both. Its seriously fecked up Carls profile and pocket.
