A Question?

Recently there have been a few Managers quitting the BoxRecSim. While some will be missed and others won't, The Right and Honourable Gentlemen known as Sav has highlighted an issue in the Sim.
SAV wrote:its just not as fun anymore. so much ducking.. before it was just buzz who ducked and that made it funny.
I think every manager on here realises that Ducking is an issue. And we are all guilty of it one time or another. We match our fighters against cpu opponents to get a few wins on the record.

But is doing that ruining the fantasy World of the Sim.

A solution? Well, I would like to hear everyone's opinion on this, because I do not have a stone-clad solution.

But, is there anyway that a rule could be enforced that Human controlled fighters MUST fight Human Controlled fighters.

That would soon put an end to cpu fighting. I realise that this is not everyone's cup of tea, and those of us who have lowly drafted fighters will have to work harder for a winning record. But isn't that the name of the game?

This season alone, I will name those who have fought cpu boxers:

Week 1: BoxBuzz (x2), Deno1986 (x2)

Week 2: The Irish Assassin (x2), JDC, Marlin

Week 3: The Irish Assassin (x2), Ben K, P4P1 (x2), Grimm (x2), BossTycoon (x2), Kevo

Week 4: The Irish Assassin, MatthewS, Harshfriller, Jbacca

Week 5: Ben K, Crease (x2), BoxBuzz (x2), Fist of Legend, Sockdolager (x2), Harshfriller (x2), Grimm (x2)

Week 6: Kevo, Sockdolager (x2), Crease, Glittermonkey, Madball1983, Marlin, Sav (x2), DetroitHxC, Fist of Legend, BoxBuzz

Week 7: Sav (x2), MatthewS (x2), JDC (x2), Kevo, Harshfriller, BoxBuzz, Fist of Legend, Marlin (x2), DetroitHxC

Now, when you look down the list of Managers, there are only 3 managers this season who have never ducked to fight a cpu fighter:

Armageto
Hitman09
The End

 And I commend them for their spirit.
(But it's no surprise that these guys have top-level fighters in Robinson, Whitaker and Armstrong)

So the question becomes, should fighting cpus be banned?

No. CPUs are a useful part of the game. And it's funny when they upset the managed fighters. :)

Not that you could mention any managers being upset about fighting cpus. :shame:

I am just making the suggestion as other have highlighted the afact that numerous managers are choosing to fight cpu fighters and it is ruining the Sim.

Fighting CPUs is not the same thing as ducking.

This season the CPU fighters I've fought were the backups to challenges I'd made to other managers.

I don't see a problem with fighting cpu fighters as a first option if your fighter is having a bad run to try and boost the win-loss but what can be annoying is manager's taking the worst cpu fighters on a consistent basis.

The only reason I fought a CPU was because there were no fights available.

I don't mind CPU's, they add hostility and banter to these forums. I prefer to fight human controlled fighters myself, but I don't begrudge people choosing CPU's to square off against.

What would do my head in though, is if people fight really poor CPU's, over and over again. Buzz gets a pass because he's mother goose.

Whilst we're talking about important shizzle though - I propose we cut down on some of the swearing. Some words just aren't pretty.

Calling Crease a noob is still OK though, yeah? :P
I don't really notice a lot of swearing tbh.

The only time I've ever fought a cpu fighter is when I was ducked.

CPU"s are fair game. No one who fights only CPU's will ever be champion.

Crease, it's time for you to take your mind out of neutral and establish some Credentials in the game. I suggest that you get at least one maybe 2 winning seasons under your belt. Watch the greats operate and learn the sim ropes. Otherwise you will simply remain at bucket boy status.

No disrespect meant, bucket boys are an important part of any sim fighters overall strategy.

.......ok....not really.

No, when your fightes are a combined 0-8 what good manager keeps throwing them in there with top of the line fighters? Just for this thread I am going to go back to fighting only CPU fighters.

None what-so-ever... I'll be shocked if he records another win, CPU opponent or not.

If I stay negative , things can only get better.

Those of us who are near the top of the pile, sometimes fight to a close loss and need a 60-40 fight rather than a 50-50 to make sure we stay in title contention the week after. One of those things.
