Brutu, I was told by a person who stayed at the motel that Joe Dominic works at the Sheraton in Spartanburg, S.C. This was about a year ago. You could call the hotel to find out if he is still there. The person who talked to him said he is alert and has a good memory.

My friend's grandpa fought him and beat him in the military.
He lives in Houston.

according to boxrec here.
Bernie Reynolds is still alive.
Born January.1.1925.
Reynolds fought Marciano May 1952 and also fought Cesar Brion,Joe Baksi and Ezzard Charles.
Im pretty sure Reynolds also did an exhibition bout with Joe Louis in the early 1950's.

BTW I noticed that Boxrec has no record of the month and year of birth of Joe Dominic.
Hopefully some basic info of his life and career will be added here.

.. i think the coley wallace being the only guy to beat marciano in the amateurs info was corrected a few years ago by someone who said marciano actually lost 4 amateur fights....but i don't know where i read that and maybe i can do some digging and find out if that's true. i always thought coley was the only one too.

Is Harry Haft still around?
Boxrec has him listed as born July.28.1925.
His son published a biography of his father in 2006.
Boxrec biography refers to the book as "a novel".

Someone mentioned over at the cyberboxingzone forum afew years aago, that
Keene Simmons was still around last time they had heard and had moved from New Jersey to Queens,New York.
Keene Simmons boxing record according to boxrec was 9-23-1.
from 1942-1955.
Simmons fought Marciano in 1951 and later became a sparring partner of Marciano's.
However I also noticed boxrec does not have his birthday recorded.
But he must be close to 90 years old.

Here is Marciano's amateur record:
April 15, 1946 Henry Lester DQ
= according to my notes, the inexperienced Marciano was getting battered along the ropes and drew up his knee in defense, striking Lester in the groin or stomach, and losing on a DQ.
AAU Championship Tournament
Portland, Oregon August, 1946
unknown KO 1
unknown KO 1
Joe DeAngelis L 3
Golden Gloves Tournament
Lowell, Massachusetts January 1948
unknown KO 1
unknown KO 1
Charlie Mortimer KO 1
Golden Gloves All-East Coast Championships
New York, New York March 1948
Coley Wallace L 3
Bob Girard L 3
Joe Sidlaskis KO 1
AAU Olympic tryouts in Boston
Fred Fischera KO
George McGinnis W 3
- according to my notes, Marciano injured his hand against McGinnis and dropped out of the tournament.

Checked with my friend about this. I was wrong about him winning. His grandfather -- Harry Jamail -- was also stationed in Wales during WWII, and boxed Marciano in an exhibition. Apparently Joe Louis was the referee, and the fight was called a draw.
I wonder if any of these early exhibitions were filmed...

..anita...if it's true that rocky's opponent was disqualified for not showing up it explains a huge mystery...i mean, how could the OPPONENT be the one disqualified in a fight with marciano!?!?!?

His brother, Louis Macheggiano is alive and doing well in Westchester County, NY. I have no exact address for him though.
He fought his brother as Pete Fuller in Maine.
