Campillo if not a would tilt shot at braehmer!

Brahmer- he isnt great, easy to hit and sloppy offensively I could see Clev picking him apart and stopping him late

i think it would be a great fight with the german nutter.

braehmer was also in a sensational fight about a year ago, vs sukhotsky i think he was called. the fight where braehmer should've been stopped, but was allowed to take a shocking beating before closing the show.

great fight for cleverly. braehmer lost to and beat mario veit. veit, whom we are all familiar with. will give them an excuse to go over the calzaghe angle.

but cleverly is very reckless. i wouldn't be surprised to see both hurt. the welshman might have to go to germany. it's one thing getting murat to come over, but braehmer, who's big in germany and a world title holder...

clev needs some work. his pace is great, his speed and variety and zest for combat impressive. he's obviously going to do well, one day. but he was getting nailed mitchell-style, getting easier and easier to hit as it went on.

how do we know what will happen vs a puncher? i think braehmer is a bit more explosive than murat and i doubt it'll be on a FW show.

let's see how nathan changes his style after this exciting but hardly mature performance (a great win, BTW, vs a contender, murat).

Brahmer would not be an easy fight. He hits much harder than Murat and we all saw how porous Clev's defence was tonight. Campillo would be a decent opponent. He is top ten and a former titlist, but stylistically he is suited for Clev. It would be another win over a world class opponent.

Im not over-rating Clev but Brahmer is there for the taking, Clev sets a hell of a pace but does smother his work and throws tippy-taps occassionly but his workrate would cause Brahmer so many problems

WBO rankings Braehmer is going to jail, right? Not going to be Popkins. Karo Murat he has just beaten. Maybe a fight against Chris Henry W 25 (KO 20) - L 2 (KO 0) - D 0 for the vacant title?

also, the shots will be coming from the southpaw side as well. i bet he'll be wide open for the straight left and the lead right hook.

i'm thinking clev has the guts, the speed and the toughness to win, but he'll probably have to take some big, head spinners and it'll be another war.

I think Cleverly needs a lot more experience before taking on boxers better than Murat.

Brahmer's not going to jail for a while. He's appealing and the process takes ages.

Seen a few of Brahmer's fights, I don't think he's as good as Murat. He's there for the taking, as long as its not decided on points in Germany.

I don't think anyone is going over the line. We are discussing who he should fight next, so it is worth mentioning that he was hit a lot tonight, because a guy like Brahmer hits harder than Murat, and can do more damage. Someone said Brahmer would be an easy win for Clev, and others are just pointing out why they don't agree.

Fair enough, I suppose this thread ain't as bad as some. He'll fight whoever, and he'll beat them as well. planty of people thought Murat was gonna win on other threads and my point was only that once again, Nathan prevailed!

Yes he did, and I was very impressed that he stopped Murat. I thought he would box and move to a relativly close decision, but he really beat Murat up at times and had him in trouble.

first time ive really seen him fight and what a fight to see first,well fight of the night and there isnt a light heavy out there in britain who could lace his boots up,i bet he is fighting for a worls title in december with degale vs groves on the under card

the thing is, you can go off on one and say "WHO'S NEXT FOR CLEV?" and "LET'S HAVE PASCAL NOW", you can say CLEVERLY WILL KILL SHUMENOV!" but you know after that enthusiastic, exciting but very sloppy performance that he's not going to get put in with the top 10 ranked fighters for a while. i mean surely we've been here before and we know what boxing is like. cleverly got nailed many times last night and while it made for great viewing, he cannot keep fighting the same way, leaning in & open to rights, telegraphing his right hand (countered by the left hook all night long). we've seen kevin mitchell make mistakes like that, we've seen him not make changes, and we've seen him made into mincemeat.

i think cleverly definitely has something but you lot overrate him. those fights with defensively inept guys (mcintosh, brancalion) and small africans have maybe "conned" the welshman into thinking he's more of a physical force than he really is. clev has speed and workrate and size on his side. he needs to fight going in and coming out, like calzaghe did.

braehmer is the next logical step up from murat but somehow i can't see the german coming overhere. are we all sure cleverly has the maturity to go into the champ's backyard, follow the right game plan and win? certainly it will be exciting but i wouldn't take it for granted that he can do it.

Having read all the feedback and updates the one question I'd like to ask those of you who saw the fight is whether it was a case of Murat reaally having that amazing a chin or Cleverley's power flattering to deceive in previous bouts against lesser opposition?

Who does Bomber think he should fight ? And Tony what did you think about Clev's performance ? Don't think you'd want the fight would you ?

i think murat is clearly very tough. helped make it a great fight by rallying every time he looked ready to go. but it was cleverly's speed and pace that wore out the german based fighter. cleverly clearly is great raw material but i think he is still a bit raw. he won't be camp, and i bet he won't be put in with a champ, until he starts fighting playing on his strengths - height, reach, speed (and obviously a fast pace).

I think it was a bit of both.

I would put a sizeable bet on Cleverly KO-ing Brahmer quite early. Brahmer is a sloppier version of Froch .. without the sturdier chin.

My only concerns with Cleverly is that he tries to copy the Calzaghe mold. Inexperienced trainer/coach, relying on fitness and granite chin too much.
He is a very young guy. I`d like to see an experienced trainer brought in to get him using his size and skill advantages foremost ... otherwise he could find himself having a very short career.

I think comments like that are a little extreme. Brahmer's chin is not that bad, and he certainly hits much harder than Murat. He knocked out Brancalion in 83 seconds, while it took Clev 5 rounds (and Brancalion got in some shots). Common opponents don't always mean much, but Brahmer has done enough in his career to suggest to me that he isn't blown away early. Also, I really think Clev's power is overated. He hit Murat with everything he had and couldn't really put him away. Aside from that stoppage win, he has only halted domestic opponents and of course Brancalion, which hardly proves he has the power to KO world class opponents in a couple rounds.
